The above quote sums me up perfectly.

It says in a very few words who and how I am.

I’ve been referred to as, Rude, Outspoken, and brash. All opinions people are welcome to have.

Someone told me once that when they asked another about what type of person I was, they were told, “She doesn’t suffer fools.” I’d say that’s right.

Let me talk to you a moment about who and how I feel I am.

I’m someone who gives my all to you if you give your all to me. I’m someone who always tells you the truth about what I think and feel and I’m someone who is always a faithful friend. I’m someone who works hard for those I represent as long as they’re willing to do their part.

What I’m not…

I’m not someone who handles people with kid gloves. I’m not someone who sugar coats things and tells only what you want to hear. I’m not someone who will hold your hand if what you seriously need is a swift kick in the bum and I’m not someone who believes in bottle or spoon feeding.

I’m not wishy washy and I’m certainly not made of frills and fluff and stuff.

I live in the here and now and having learned my lessons the hard way, I’m not someone who lives in the past lamenting times gone by and wishing for things to be as they were.

I’ve learned to do much of what I know by leaping in and learning as I go. By self-help books, blogs, and by sacrificing blood, sweat and tears.

So, if you want to be part of my world, now you cannot say I didn’t warn you ahead of time about what you’ll get.

Patty Fletcher is a single mother with a beautiful daughter, of whom she is enormously proud. She has a great son-in-law and six beautiful grandchildren. From April 2011 through September 2020, she owned and handled a black Labrador from The Seeing Eye® named King Campbell Lee Fletcher A.K.A. Bubba. Sadly, after a long battle with illness on September 24, 2020, King Campbell went to the Rainbow Bridge where all is peace and love.

Patty will return to The Seeing Eye July 19, 2021, to train for her second dog.

PATTY’S BLINDNESS…

Patty was born one and a half months premature. Her blindness was caused by her being given too much oxygen in the incubator. She was partially sighted until 1991, at which time she lost her sight due to an infection after cataract surgery and high eye pressure. She used a cane for 31 years before making the change to a guide dog.

WHERE SHE LIVES AND WORKS…

Currently, Patty lives and works in Kingsport, Tenn.
