Patty Fletcher is a single mother with a beautiful daughter, of whom she is enormously proud. She has a great son-in-law and six beautiful grandchildren. From April 2011 through September 2020, she owned and handled a black Labrador from The Seeing Eye® named King Campbell Lee Fletcher A.K.A. Bubba. Sadly, after a long battle with illness on September 24, 2020, King Campbell went to the Rainbow Bridge where all is peace and love. In July 2021, she returned to The Seeing Eye® and was paired with a Black Labrador Golden Retriever cross named Blue.

Patty was born one and a half months premature. Her blindness was caused by her being given too much oxygen in the incubator. She was partially sighted until 1991, at which time she lost her sight due to an infection after cataract surgery and high eye pressure. She used a cane for 31 years before making the change to a guide dog.

Currently, Patty lives and works in Kingsport, Tenn.

She’s the creator and owner of Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing (Author, Blogger, Business Assist), The Writer’s Grapevine Online Magazine and the creator and host of the Talk to Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing Podcast.

Patty writes with the goal of bridging the great chasm which separates the disabled from the non-disabled.

Patty’s hobbies include reading, music, and attending book clubs via Zoom.

Some of her favorite types of tunes are classic rock, rhythm and blues, and classic country.

Patty enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and books about the supernatural. She loves books by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Norah Roberts, and many more. Some favorite books include Norah Roberts’ Hide Away, Stephen King’s Dark Tower series, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series, and J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series.

Patty describes herself as a spiritual Walker. She says she knows both Mother Goddess and Father God and embraces all they have to offer.

  2. Hi Patty,
So nice to read about who you are and what you do. You are truly inspiring. Thanks for reblogging one of my guest posts on Dan’s site too. I appreciate it.
Is Campbell a Scottish dog? He has a very Scottish name. I’m originally from Glasgow, Scotland, myself.
    Have a good Sunday.

    1. Hi. Sorry I’m just now seeing this comment. For whatever reason I’m not receiving notifications.
No, Campbell is not Scottish. He is a Labrador and he comes from The Seeing Eye in Morristown New Jersey.
So glad to hear from you.

  3. Hi there! Sounds to me like you are doing wonderful work on several fronts. My older son was born at 23 weeks, so I can relate to the oxygen in the isolette situation. Campbell sounds like a champion!

  4. Hello Patty! It’s very nice to meet you. I enjoyed reading and learning more about you and your book. Thank you for following my blog. You have a lovely blog, so I will be following you from now on as well and happy to do so. 😀 xx

  9. I’m a blind author as well (RP from birth). I notice we enjoy some of the same things: nature walks, Harry Potter and spirituality without borders, if you will. I also have a guide dog. Blessings to you.

  10. Hello everyone.
OK. First off I blundered a comment I wrote here obviously I cannot spell.
(it’s why I have an editor) HA!
Anyhow, I’m very glad to see all yall have read this bio and have visited campbellsworld.
I’m annoyed that I cannot figure out how to put sharing links here but am working to figure it out.
    Thanks again for visiting.

  11. Patty, I love your description of being a “spiritual walker”… (I’m much the same way.) What a fabulous description. What email can I use to gift you a kindle version of Atonement in Bloom? Hugs.

    1. Hi.

Yes, spiritual walker absolutely describes me.

      Thanks for reading this.

I’m currently enjoying your book Atonement In Tennessee.

I get a book each month with my prime membership on Amazon and have already selected the book as the one I’ll be getting soon as my credit pops up.

      Very good book for sure.

      Enjoying it lots.

Would you like a copy of one of mine?

It was great reading your bio, Patty. I’ve always been a dog lover, and my old black lab Smokey was one of the best dogs I ever owned. We have two yellow labs now, and they keep us hopping with all of their shenanigans. I love them in spite of their mischief.

    1. Oh my goodness. They sound wonderful.

Campbell pulled a trick on me last night and I’ll be writing of it later today.

I hope maybe you’ll read one or both of my books. Honestly I think Bubba Tails is selling more than Campbell’s Rambles but since King Campbell tells the tail/tale I can see why. It was such fun writing that book, and then when Claire called for a submission for the children’s anthology I had to write Wish of the Wee Golden.

I can honestly say there’s a new Bubba Tails in my future.

I will look forward to reading about Campbell later today, and I will be glad to look into your books too. I taught elementary school for thirty-one years (retired three years ago), and I loved everything about my career. (especially some of the lifelong relationships I’ve formed with some of them). In fact, I am going to a housewarming party tonight of one of my former students. It feels fantastic when they share those kinds of important events with me. I had an unexpected urging to write a book about my career that I self-published in the last year. It is a combination memoir/advice book written mostly for young or future teachers. That was not part of the retirement plan—it just kind of evolved. What I’ve always wanted to do, and what I’m currently working on, was writing children’s books.

I volunteer for an organization called the Society for the Blind. I read our local newspaper (via cell phone) once a week and send the voice memos into a database where they can be accessed by those who are blind or have limited vision.

        1. We never plan lease things. They just happen. LOL. That’s wonderful that you are volunteering for the society for the blind. I think that’s fabulous. If you check out my Books link on my blog, you can find all my books and how to purchase them. And I haven’t gotten around to writing about Campbell yet, it’s been kind of an off day for me. I’ve just been kind of lazy. I think I have an early dose of dog days LOL. It’s hotter than it should be for this time of year here.

  14. Hi Patty, Great to ‘meet’ you and your lovely dog and friend. Thanks for reading “Canadian Capers”. “Now I’m more mature…(ancient) I enjoy digging out old posts. You are to be congratulated on all you achieve.May you have mega sunshine in your life. Cheers! x

    1. Hello Joy. Glad to meet you too.

So sorry that your comment somehow got caught up in my pending folder. I enjoy digging out older posts and looking at them too. It shows me how my writing has grown since I began.

  15. Thanks again for visiting my author blog. It’s so nice to learn about you! By the way, your gravatar isn’t linking to your website at the moment. Maybe you had another website at one point, and it’s still trying to connect to that? You probably know how to to this, but I’ll tell you just in case. Your gravatar is the little avatar icon that shows up to the left of your comment whenever you comment on anyone’s site. This is the link to where you can get your gravatar hooked up to the campbellsworld.wordpress.com site: https://en.gravatar.com/emails

    1. I run several sites and use one gravitar…I did try and change and got messed up. I will tell the various people I help to see if they can connect their own gravitar. Thanks

      1. Hi Claire.

I tried and couldn’t get it to work for me.

If you’re able to help I sent you the comment cause I didn’t see your comment here.

        1. No worries. I would if I could. I’m not good with Gravatar anyway, last time i changed it, it took ages to sort out…ooops

          1. Well it looked very straightforward. I mean from what I can tell it was just a matter of making the changes. And saving them. The problem was that the buttons would not work. I’ll go back and give it a try later today. Or tomorrow.

    2. Thanks for telling me this. I didn’t know that hadn’t been resolved.

Yes I used to have a different blog but thought that had been destroyed when this was created.

I’ll take care of this immediately.

      Thanks again.

      Food For Thought

We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.
