Team Blue Back in Action

Blue woke me at 6 AM this morning by putting his nose in my ear and jingling his bell loudly. Blue is normally the last out of bed. Today, he was eager to go. I knew we were headed for a day of a hyper dog. He hasn’t had any real work since going out a week or so ago other than meandering around the property. He started taking me to people without permission, blowing off my directions and doing as he pleased, and even after a good round of obedience he was acting a fool. It does not help that the old smoker guys holler, “Hi Blue” as we pass, but I’m not allowed to use the choke chain on them. Seems unfair. The dog must endure it. So, why should they not also?
After a long while of putting up with Blue and his continuous disobedience this morning and learning that the bakery was closing at 4 and would not reopen until the 29th of December, I decided, enough! A walk is in order’ I threw on my purple shawl, grabbed my newest purse I got for Winter Solstice this year and then, we were off.
I had to take my time. I am having a little vertigo. Not so much losing my balance. More like spatial disorientation a couple of times I had to really trust my dog because I was not sure I was in the right place; He was sure of himself, so I trusted him; we got there with no trouble.
My ears are clogged with this viral junk on top of the regular hearing issue. It was a tiny bit scary once as we made a turn, I felt slightly disoriented, but Blue was trotting happily along. So, I trusted him. Trusted myself. I am proud of us. Proud of myself, for doing it even though I am not at the very top of my game. It was good to know I could make that decision and feel okay about it.
I had some trouble once I got inside. It was very crowded, and I got disoriented.
and then, to my delight, one of the ladies who help me regularly appeared. Somehow, we had gotten to the ice cream cooler.
The lady helped me get my order and pay for it and we made our escape.
We got back home with no trouble. The walk home was so pleasant I sang all the way. Somehow, I felt better when I was walking back. Probably because I know Blue is going to go home when I say, “Do you want a snack?” Well, everybody should have an edge, right? Now, I’m enjoying my bounty.
Blue is in a much better mood. He really did need some work.
When we don’t do anything, no work here in the building, like laundry, trash, mail, visiting neighbors and attending activities, he gets a little hard to handle. Like anyone, blue wants to be out and about once in a while. Since I got sick over the weekend, we have done nothing but go to relieve and back inside.
I guess Blue tolerated all he could stand. I’m glad I knew what he needed. If I’m honest, even though that walk tired me out, I was going a little stir crazy myself. Like Derrick Councils in The Blended Lives Chronicles, “Iced Macchiato is a great motivator.” And never mind what he advises about the espresso. Just go in there and tell them you want a medium Iced Macchiato for the Guide Dog lady who is always lost. They will know exactly what to do. Then, just come on over and we’ll visit. LOL.
I cannot help it. I always wanted to live in an area like this, and like I said earlier this is my heart home. It’s lovely to be recognized and remembered when you go into a business somewhere. Usually, I don’t have much trouble. I should have called like I normally do. I did call but I did not say I was coming right then.
The people are so friendly.
Okay maybe I’m turning into a modern-day version of Aunt Clara from e Witched. LOL. I do seem to have a little chaos and calamity throughout my days. But hey, it’s a blog post, right?
Honestly, people always want to know what I write about. I will write about life. Fiction. Nonfiction. In between. It’s all relevant.
I have not had the time to sit at the keyboard and just write what’s in my heart and mind for a little while now. Taking time off is good.
I will say, my sponsors are still hard at work. I have lots of their holiday goodies on the blog.
Make sure to check it out.

Well, I see lots of notifications on FB waiting, so I’m going to go get in a more comfortable place to hang out while I answer them.
The holiday is here. The big day nearby. We all worked hard to get to this day. Enjoy it with all you have in every way!
Merry Christmas!
