Query Requirements and Advice

To send a query to Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing (Author, Blogger, Business Assist) please follow the below instructions…

First, introduce yourself. Tell me who you are, what you do and what it is you’re interested in from me.

Make sure to provide a bio 300 to 500 words in length in either first or third person.

Be certain to include all book, blog or business information.

Include website URLS to author or business and all blog or social media websites.

Use full URLS.

For best results, create and send a media kit.

Be detailed concerning your intent.

If you have any accessibility needs, please make them known.

In the past week, I’ve received six queries which were so unprofessionally done that all I got for my trouble was a lot of back and forth emailing to try and decipher the interested party’s intentions and all of them went away displeased because their submissions were rejected due to not being submitted properly.

Ladies and gentlemen, anyone can write a book, create a blog or start a business.

Only those who have studied their craft and are willing to do the demanding work are going to be successful.

My advice to writers is to read writer related magazines such as The Writer, Writer’s Digest and Writer’s Market.

Also read books on writing. Such as Stephen King’s “On Writing” and other similar works.

Business owners, you need to take the time to take a creative business writing course and learn how to properly query a marketer.

Last and not least, never and I do mean never query someone without thoroughly vetting the person you’re wanting to work with. A lot can be avoided just by checking out a person’s website from top to bottom before you begin.

If you’re offended, I suggest you stop, and work toward growing a very thick skin before you continue your endeavor in any fashion. You are but one snowflake in a blizzard of authors, bloggers and business owners. The only way for you to be noted and to succeed is to be the absolute best you can be.

We were all new once. I certainly was, but the first thing I learned was to take instruction from my betters, not to argue or provide meaningless excuses nor to expect people to make a ton of allowances for me.

Thanks for reading. Happy marketing and blessid be.

She wears a white shirt with a pink and purple butterfly on the front and light blue shorts. Blue is a handsome black lab. He wears a brown leather harness with a handle attached to the back and is smiling at the camera as he sits in front of Patty. In the background is a brick building with white, windowed doors and a flowerpot overflowing with pink and yellow blooms.

Patty was born one and a half months premature. Her blindness was caused by her being given too much oxygen in the incubator. She was partially sighted until 1991, at which time she lost her sight due to an infection after cataract surgery and high eye pressure. She used a cane for 31 years before making the change to a guide dog.

Currently, Patty lives and works in Kingsport, Tenn.

She’s the creator and owner of Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing (Author, Blogger, Business Assist), The Writer’s Grapevine Online Magazine and the creator and host of the Talk to Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing Podcast.

Patty’s hobbies include reading, music, and attending book clubs via Zoom.

Some of her favorite types of tunes are classic rock, rhythm and blues, and classic country.

Patty enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and books about the supernatural. She loves books by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Norah Roberts, and many more.
