The COVID-19 pandemic took a mighty toll on me and others. Once I realized the impact it had.
I knew I must try and help those reading The Writer’s Grapevine recover as much as I could, and so I began to look for articles which would be useful to us all.
The Smorgasbord Café Blog Magazine has been a great resource of health columns for me over the past few years. I reached out to its author Sally Cronin to see if she might consider becoming a regular contributor to Health World.
She wrote back to say that while she was flattered that I would consider her for my magazine, she just didn’t have the time to do it.
At first, I was disappointed, then inspiration struck.

I have posted in the past about the side effects of common painkillers and the addiction risks but I wanted to share some more recent data on this issue.
Over the last twenty years, the USA has been on a downward spiral with regard to opioid addiction. That trend is now impacting many countries with statistics identifying the massive growth in addiction.
