Excerpt from The Blended Lives Chronicles Book III

From the Journal of Lady MoonWalker

Korponious City Spring 2058

silence begins to descend
as the day comes to an end
mind begins to whir
thoughts begin to stir
worry
confusion
it starts all over
I don’t understand
here in the quiet I’m in command
every step and turn
clear as can be
but when I’m on the street
nothing comes to me
what is wrong with me
how can this be
I’ve never been afraid to be on my own
for now it’s okay
but what happens when one day
King and I awake
find our foundation is a shake
the worlds worse than ever before
another planetary war
it’s not like a book
when the white knight swoops in
when you live on your own
and all your loved ones are gone
friends able to escape
some far out in space
what happens to those left behind
where do they find
safety when there’s no safe place to hide
for me
if that ever comes to be
that will simply be
the end
just the night closing in
