If the sidewalk in front of Coors Field in Denver had ears, would it enjoy the excited crowd noise during a Colorado Rockies game, even if the team didn’t make a home run? Would it commiserate with fans leaving the stadium after the Rockies inevitably lost? What would it think if my late husband said, “The Rockies are rotten to the core,” then returned the next night to watch them lose again?
