Why Can’t I Know

what is wrong with me
why is it even when they say I’ve done nothing wrong
they go
I don’t understand
if I did nothing wrong
why did they go
I never know why people go
even when they tell me what’s wrong
even when it’s real
even when I start working on it
don’t expect perfection overnight
I’m trying damn it
why can’t I know
tears flow
hurt grows
sadness comes
happiness goes
lost my nerve
life threw me a curve

fell flat
splat
