*Reader’s Note*
This is being posted several places including my blog. If it’s a repeat for you, please forgive.
Good morning to All!
How are you this day?
Here, the weather is quite nasty. We’ve pouring rain, gusty winds, and a bit of thunder muttering off in the distance.
If you can believe it, I’m just waking up. I stayed up until nearly 1 in the morning reading a book and didn’t crawl out from underneath the covers until 8. This is quite unusual behavior for me, but I simply couldn’t put the book I was reading down. I’d started it earlier Wednesday evening after a long day of #WordPressWednesday and before I knew it, I was quite involved.
Today, I must catch up my email, then do a little network and outreach, upload another podcast and after that I’ll have another interview to record.
What are all of you up to today? Are you reading anything interesting? Working on a project? I hope you’ll let us know.
What book had me so enthralled that I couldn’t drag myself away until nearly 1 in the morning? I’ll share the National Library Services for the Blind and Print Disabled information below. Until next time, this is Patty bidding you a good day saying…
Have a great day and remember, it’s up to you to make it that way. So, make it a great one today.
May Harmony find You, and Blessid Be.
*Note*
This book is part of a series. I’ve read all the previous books. Although the authors give enough information during each book so that the reader is not lost, I recommend reading the series in order. If you’re a user of the NLS site, you can click, or press enter on the series link shown in the information below and after you’ve logged in you’ll be shown the series in its entirety.
Happy Reading…

Reading with the Authors

October 29, 2020Hi Patty and all friends here,
This must be the day to sleep in – which is something that is rare for me.
I was up at 5 as usual, took the dogs out and when we came back, I did some reading till 7 then went back out with the dogs again. It is quite cold and raining.
So I decided to go back to bed till 9. Normally, this is something I would only do if I am sick. Going back to bed is never good for me – there is always a feeling of things that could have been done. Also, since there was no supervision over Poison Ivy, the cat who was a feral baby we rescued last year – yet – she made messes in the kitchen. She dumped over a full container of water onto the counter – everything was soaking wet – cereal boxes, drawers, floor. And, she visited the dining room table top as well – dirt was dug from a plant that is on the table, and tablecloth and placemats were all askew. By sleeping in, I now had about an hours of work to do that was not necessary – this about sums up how the entire day has been going. Not only did water make a mess in the kitchen, when I took a bath, there was a problem with the new plumbing that was done – and the floor was covered with water. I have to call the plumber to come back and I now have 3 loads of laundry that must be done – all because I slept in today.
I am listening to (reading) the Perkins Library recording of the Magnets & Ladders, Fall/Winter issue from 2019-20. It just came out, due to the virus delays – readers cannot come in to do their work so it has taken this long to get the issue. But, I am now reading it for the second time and it’s an amazing collection of a variety of essays, stories, and poems – many of the authors are members of Behind Our Eyes, others, are not, but are disabled in some way. That is a requirement when entering work to M&L – it is well worth reading and I think you will like it, too. Just contact Perkins Library and get on the list for receiving the digital recordings in the future. Lynda Lambert

October 29, 2020Hi Lynda.
Well, it sounds like youâve had a wet day within and without.
Sorry about that.
I hate when stuff like that happens. Thanks be, I didnât suffer any real ill affect from sleeping in.
However, in the past I have had such things happen.
Once I went back to bed after getting up in the middle of the night. I was late getting up. Campbell decided that since I wasnât up to feed him at his appointed time and since somehow the bag of food had been left part-way open, heâd feed himself. Since he didnât believe in the use of measuring cups and because a Labrador has no idea of when enough is enough, he ate about a 4TH of a bag of food. Then he proceed to throw up a large portion of that and he did so beside my bed. And so when I placed my feet onto the floor, that was my greeting.
I never, and I do mean never went back to bed before heâd been taken out and fed in the mornings after that. LOL.
Glad to hear from you.

Food For Thought
We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.

October 29, 2020Earlier today while eating lunch, I started reading So Big by Edna Ferber. I read this years ago when I was in college, but since the Accessible World Fiction Old and New group is planning to discuss it a week from tomorrow night, I figured it was worth a second read and a review on my blog, probably next Friday. The book was originally published in 1924, and the version I downloaded from NLS, narrated by Jill Ferris, contains an introduction written in 1995 by one of the editors of Iowa University Press, which reprinted the book.
Although the introduction provides a lot of spoilers, it gives us, among other things, a glimpse of Edna Ferber’s life and what inspired her novels. I’ve read several of her other books, and although she includes way too much narrative, which was the style back then, her stories are worth it.

October 29, 2020Hi.
Sounds like a good book.
Yes, narrative was a big thing back then.
Sometimes though it is even now quite necessary depending upon the story being told.
Enjoy.
