We, Are, In, Trouble!
People ask all the time, “Where do you get your inspiration from?”
My answer…
After a firehose of a first six weeks back in the White House, President Trump delivered a boastful and partisan address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night. Here are six takeaways from the speech.

Sneak Peek at Book III Chambers Between the Minds
Takeaway from: The Desk of Patty L. Fletcher – Lady Laya MoonWalker
If you’ve read my books from The Blended Lives Chronicles series, and my thoughts surprise you. Then, you didn’t get the takeaway from the books.
In the meantime, here are the thoughts of Patty L. Fletcher High Priestess Laya MoonWalker Gibbous. Who at this moment are of one mind.
Making The Blended Lives Planetary Federation into an isolationist Nation makes us look the closest to the Old Earth Germany during the years just before the centuries old WWII as anyone has done in a long while.
We worry about the Old Earth China and North Korea when we call Paya Customer Services Communique helpline and reach someone who is in a foreign prison sharing all our sensitive information to be sold and bargained with.
Yet, why should such things bother us? We’re of the Order Of The Night. We’re protected. Right?
Well, yeah, until our soul is sold to The Purified.
Mark my word, when I see this action taking place, I stand by my opening statement.
We, Are, In, Trouble!
When the shit hits the fan, camps such as the one opening at Outpost Guantanamo 69 are only the beginning of atrocities to be visited upon anyone disagreeing with the new Horn Federation.
Oh, ye people!
Rise up and take note!
We, Are, In Trouble!
From the Journal of High Priestess Lady MoonWalker Gibbous.
When everyone has enough and we’re converged upon by those with whom we once broke bread and did business, we will have no one to stand with us except those President Horn has either purchased or traded things not his to manipulate.
He is corrupt and in time will be found as such.
In the meantime, be safe my weary travelers. Those walking amongst evil to do the good work of the world.
Those precious and worthy. Oh! Great Goddess Morrigan Oh! Reaper! Keep them safe for those who are not as strong and may not have the true tools with which to survive.
Thank you, oh mighty warriors. For without you we would all be damned.

Chapter Three
Rant and Rebellion
Pacing back and forth up and down the length of her art room, Laya fumed as she squeezed and kneaded the cinnamon-scented, fiery-red ball of clay as hard as she could.
How dare he send me to my room like some disobedient child? And what’s this plan everyone keeps talking about? I’ve had it up to my third eye with all this secrecy. Derrick claims to love me and still he lies. Randall claims to have the people of Corponious interests at heart, yet still they’re trapped with the entire planet under siege and at the mercy of those hideous Clear Bloods. If someone does not start including me in absolutely every bit of this, I’m going to do what I want and to hell with the rest of them.
Flipping her fingers in the general direction of her smart speaker, she sent Twisted Sister’s We’re Not Gonna Take It, blasting round the room. Stomping over to the wedging table in the corner, Laya slammed the clay down onto the board and began pounding it with all the frustrated strength she could master. Sparks flew as she pounded the clay into shape.
Do they not realize those are my people? Do they not realize my family is there? My father of a century still lives there. My daughter, son-in-law, and beautiful grands and yet I’m here shut up like some schoolgirl who stayed out after curfew. How dare they! She demanded, giving the clay, now shaped as an arrow, one last thump for good measure.
Just as Laya was gearing up to full cry, the door to her art room snicked softly open and Derrick stepped through, closing it silently behind him. Walking noiselessly across the room, he took Laya firmly into his arms. Before she could protest with so much as a whispered word, he said, “Hush. Say nothing. Clear your mind and come with me. I will take you back, but you must do everything I say without fail.”
“But Randall—” Laya asked telepathically.
“Randall has his agenda, and you have yours. Do you want to help your people?”
“Yes, but it seems to me there are things I don’t know. Even things you don’t know, and if that’s so, we may do more harm than good. I’m angry, yes. Confused, absolutely, but I don’t want to make things worse. I want you to explain what Wolverine meant when she said you’d not asked me. What have you not asked me? What is it, Derrick? If you want me to absolutely love and trust you, you must give me the same. Please?”
As she spoke, the clay arrow began shredding itself into tiny pieces and the potter’s wheel in the corner started spinning round.
Waiting a beat, Derrick thought to her, “Okay. Let’s go somewhere we can talk privately.”
Laya took a cleansing breath while mentally repeating, “Life is the river. I am the bank which guides its way.” She sent the clay back into its bag and put it back into its original form, stopped the wheel with a raised hand and, turning the music off, shifted Derrick and herself to her private study.
When they’d gone, the bag of clay began to move.
Once Laya and Derrick had settled onto the loveseat in Laya’s private study, speaking out loud, Laya said, “Sit. Talk with me. Tell me everything you know. When you’re through, if there are things I know which you don’t, I’ll fill you in. If we’re to one day be mated as husband and wife, it’s time we began acting the part. If we’re not able to do this here and now, we may as well walk away from one another.”
Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, Derrick began. “Randall feels we should do just that, at least in public. He believes if you announce you’ve decided not to follow me and the Order, and go back to Korponious as if you were returning home in defeat, and work your way into the Clear Blood clan from there, we can finally dissolve them. I disagree. I told him that if you tried such a thing, they would force you into the cleansing and brainwash you into their ways, and all would be forever lost.”
For a long time, Laya said nothing. Then she raised her head. “Is there any way I could be altered before I went to make it so the cleansing wouldn’t actually work? You know? So it couldn’t show if they drank from me.”
Derrick sat quietly, thinking of the night Randall had shared the plan with him. He could still see him standing at the end of the table, Order members surrounding him, hanging on every word. Randall’s voice rang clear again in his mind.
“I believe, Derrick, if you and Laya put out the word that you were splitting over differences of opinion concerning Korponious, and we sent her back, we could—”
“Send her back? Are you completely mad, sir? Send her back to that forsaken place—to the Clear Bloods?”
Voices began rumbling both agreement and disagreement with Derrick’s words.
Derrick got to his feet. “Randall, you must not! We must find another way.”
“And you must let Laya play her part,” Randall thundered.
“What if they change her? Then what?”
“You know we have a plan for that, Derrick.” Randall insisted. “We’ve been over and over it. We must at least ask her.”
Back in Laya’s rooms, Derrick shivered at the very thought of it, and, turning to her, hissed, “No.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Laya. It’s not something we should risk. Besides, if you let them turn you, cleansed or not, you will be ever bonded, and if they’re indeed killed, it would forever change you emotionally. The risk of that is far too great to take. That’s why I didn’t ask you. It’s why I lied to Randall and risked everything. He could exile me, and you know it. He could even keep us apart.”
“Then what can we do? How can we manage this?”
Pulling her close, he whispered, “I’ve a plan of my own, but I must have your complete trust and loyalty.”
Taking a breath to clear her thoughts, Laya started to answer. But before she could, Randall shifted into the room.
“Well, thanks for knocking,” Laya said petulantly.
“The two of you are so close to being stripped and caned, it’s not funny. Listen, keep your skin, and gain a bit of wisdom. Once again, Laya’s teaching has spoken true in Wolverine, and she’s told me something which changes everything.”
“Does it have to do with Raymond’s going back to the Clear Bloods?” Laya asked.
“Yes.” Randall said. “She’s at the safe house preparing dinner. Let’s go there now, and we’ll explain more. But how did you come to that conclusion?”
“Mayhap I know things you don’t think I do,” Laya answered with a petulant tone still in her voice.
“Laya.” Randall took a firm grip on her arm. Then, sparing a glance at Derrick to see if he would mount a challenge, Randall continued, “I am only going to say this once. If you don’t want me treating you like a child, lose the attitude. Upset or not, I’m still in charge of you. I will, as Derrick says, pull rank. Enough. Plans have changed. I will tell you all. We will update one another. Let’s go!”

The image shows a person standing in front of a mirror, with their reflection visible. The person is wearing a patterned shirt with various geometric shapes and colors. Their arms are crossed in front of them, and they are wearing a black strap around their neck. Above the mirror, there is a wall-mounted light fixture with two illuminated bulbs, casting light downwards. To the right of the mirror, a towel with a cartoon character design is hanging on a rack. Below the mirror, on the left side, there is a double light switch on the wall. The background wall is plain and light-colored.
The room exudes a serene yet vibrant atmosphere, with the patterned shirt adding a touch of artistic flair against the simplicity of the plain wall. The soft glow from the light fixture enhances the cozy ambiance, while the playful towel brings a hint of whimsy to the scene. Every element seems thoughtfully placed, creating a harmonious blend of practicality and aesthetic appeal.
