However, for those of you who do not blog, but have Facebook pages my advice is to copy things that you have written onto your Facebook pages and make sure to tag me when you do so that I see and share the post.
OK. What has been going on here? First of all, we still do not have a definite diagnosis for campbells on again off again health issues. But, he has made one thing very clear. He is for the most part done with his harness and working. This became very clear over the weekend.
Over the weekend we took several walks with him in and out of harness. We used the same routes all the times that we went out. When I took him in his harness, he seemed to have no interest and did not appear to enjoy himself whatsoever. It seemed to me that he was simply doing what I asked because I asked. It did not seem that he wanted to be doing it. He walked with his head down, tail down, and gave no sign that he was enjoying himself whatsoever.
However, when I took him without his harness, he just walking alongside me on his leash, his head was up, nose in the wind, wagging his tail, making eye contact with everyone we passed, stopping to say hello and truly seeming to enjoy himself immensely.
He was saying to me without doubt, ‘mom, I am done with this harness. Please? Can’t I just be a dog?’ My answer, of course, is yes. I must admit I cried most of the way home. But, he has given me eight wonderful years of service. On April 4, 2019 we will have been together for eight years. I have absolutely no regrets of our time together. We have done some wonderful awesome things and it is simply time to let him retire.
I am not sure when it will happen, but I will be going to get another dog. I must, do the medical portion of my application, and I would like to get a more definite idea of what is causing his health issues before I proceed, but I am certain that Campbell will handle this next phase of our time together as he has done with everything up to this point and that is with precision and obedience. I am also certain as is always the case, he will do a better job emotionally then will I.
Well, for now I am going to go, I have a good book going, and I also need to check in with author, Ann Harrison-Barnes Who is currently hosting an event on Facebook to launch her rebranding of her new book, Out of The Box and electric eclectic book.
Everyone take care, and if you like, please post in the comments section about what you are doing, and where we can find your work.
