Blue and I got up and got moving by 6 this morning. He first woke me at 5 to let me know he had come into the living room and then at 6 to demand, "Service Human! Get up, I need out!"
I dragged myself out of the nest I’d made in the recliner in the middle of the night when my hip began hurting and I could no longer stand sleeping in my bed.
We were out and jogging by 15 after. Yes, we jog, my health app says we move at 3.8 miles per hour when we get to top-speed. So, for me that’s jogging.
We did our first lap and came back inside. then, later around 8:30 we were back out, and I decided to do an entire 4 laps at one time and change up the route around a few different times so Blue would get excited and walk at top-speed. It’s to be 90 + later today so I wanted to get the workout in before the ovens from hell turned on.
So, now, my health app says we walked our entire mile. My goal now, is to do this every day until I can do it without huffing and puffing like a steam engine and then go for a second mile.
We’ll have to work ourselves up to it, but Blue was rather content when he came back inside after that big run, and I didn’t take long to cool down at all.
I want to be a healthier me. I know the reason my hip hurts is because I have a disk which presses on a nerve and that my weight does not help that.
Since returning home with Blue I have now lost right at 60 pounds, and I have at least 80 more to lose before I’m done.
Honestly, I’d like to lose a bit more than that. I think 100 would be more like what I should still lose but my age and body may disagree.
I also must keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat and though I’m fairly big I’m also rather solid.
Well, I’m listening to the last general session of the ACB convention and we’re having our delegate vote.
OK everyone, have a great day and remember, it’s up to you to make it that way.

July 6, 2023Wow Patty, what an achievement to lose that much weight and continue with your goal. It’s not easy to do, however, I imagine Blue is enjoying the journey!

July 6, 2023Hi Jackie, yes, Blue loves it. Once I got him moving he was bouncing on his toes. It’s especially important for him to be fit so even though I’m focusing on myself, I’m also keeping motivated by Blue.
I’v also just learned there’s a drop box by our office I never knew about which would make it easier for me to drop off items such as rent Etc. So, over the weekend and next week, I’ll be training him up on that.

July 6, 2023Great job Patty. It’s hard losing weight and clearly takes determination. I’m guessing Blue loves it, though!
