Unity Church

Hi everyone! I have attend this church many times, and no these people to be awesome. If you are in the area you want to stop by and visit.  Although it has been sometime since I have been there, when I was there last they all treated me wonderfully.  Blessings to all at Unity Church of the Tri-Cities.

F.E.A.R. has two meanings:  Forget Everything and Run OR Face Everything and Rise.  The choice is yours.

This Week at Unity Church of the Tri-Cities

This Sunday, January 29th, we will celebrate “The White Stone Ceremony.”   It will be supported by our popular “rockin’ reverent” music.  The service will begin at 11am at Samadhi Healing Arts Center, 423 W. Walnut St., Johnson City.   Please stay for coffee and conversation.  The Lending Library will be open before and after the service.

In Case of Inclement Weather . . .

It’s that time of year when we begin to check the weather conditions before setting out to go somewhere, including church.

In the unlikely (but possible) event that weather prevents us from actually conducting our church service, we will post a notification on our Facebook page and on our web site as early as Saturday night before the service, if possible.  Otherwise, it will be there by 9am Sunday morning.

The Quest: A Journey of Spiritual Rediscovery           by Richard and Mary-Alice Jafolla

While it is true that God cannot be defined, certain experiences can act like windows through which God becomes known to you in personal and powerful ways.

What has been your single most profound experience of God at work in your life?   If you feel you have never had a profound God experience, write about someone you know or someone you’ve heard of who has had such an experience.

What three words spontaneously come to mind when you think of God?

List three things which to you are evidence of God in your world.

First thing every morning, smile at yourself in the mirror.

Sound strange?  Maybe so.  Yet it’s psychologically and physiologically sound.

Every morning, when you first see yourself in the mirror, smile.  It may be a struggle, but give it a go!  Look at yourself and smile, even if it takes pushing the corners of your mouth with your fingers!

Although the great humorist W. C. Fields advised us to “Start every day off with a smile and get it over with,” the truth is that a smile will set you up for a good day.  It’s a fact that you get happy when you see someone smile.  It’s an automatic response.  Seeing a smiling face makes you happier, even if only on an unconscious level.  (And there’s an extra bonus: it causes the release of beneficial chemicals in your body, especially those that strengthen the immune system.)

Secondly, there’s instant positive feedback to you.  For example, what is the message someone is sending you when you see that person smile?  “Everything’s okay with me.”   Right?  That’s the message, that all is well in his or her life.

You’ll get the same message about yourself.  When you see yourself smile, no matter what’s going on in your life, the unconscious message to yourself is, “Everything’s okay with me.”

Once your mind gets the idea that everything is all right, the body follows and moves toward physical and emotional healing.  You’re going to be amazed at how this simple little daily activity of smiling at yourself in the mirror will bring you so many far-reaching benefits.

Smiling at yourself first thing in the morning is a terrific way to begin again.  In fact, every smile will be a new beginning!

This is one Stepping-Stone you shouldn’t give up when you complete the lesson.  Let this one become a lifetime habit.

God is at work in your life.

Follow us weekly as we go exploring on The Quest. More hints along the path of spiritual rediscovery will be revealed each week.

We continue to add businesses to our website, advertising their services for FREE.  If yours isn’t one of them, be sure to email the church with the relevant information and it will be added to the “Unity Resources” page on our web site.
