Thor is the Norse god of thunder, lightning, strength, and protection. Wielding the hammer Mjnir, he is revered as a defender of both the gods and humanity against the forces of chaos.
Today, in my faith practice it’s a day for attracting more of what you have.
On this Thor’s Day evening, I sit in contemplation concerning what it is I wish to manifest over the next 14-day cycle as the moon grows from the Maden to the Mother. People have followed the cycles of the moon for various reasons since time was toothless.
Between now and this coming full moon there are things I wish to harvest.
In many modern Pagan and Wiccan traditions, mid-July falls within the season of Litha, the period following the Summer Solstice (around June 20–22) and leading toward Lammas/Lughnasadh (around August 1).
The Season of Litha (Mid-Summer)
Litha is the height of the Sun’s power. The Earth is lush, green, and full of life, with crops growing toward their first harvest. Although the days begin to shorten after the solstice, the Sun’s warmth remains strong, reminding us that abundance and vitality are still at their peak.
Spiritually, this season encourages us to:

Celebrate growth, abundance, and gratitude.
•
Tend the goals and intentions planted earlier in the year.
•
Recognize that every peak is followed by change, encouraging balance and humility.
•
Spend time outdoors, connecting with the land, trees, flowers, and wildlife.
Mid-July is often viewed as a quiet transition—a time to enjoy the fullness of summer while preparing for the first harvest of Lammas, when the focus shifts from growth to reaping the rewards of our labor.
In essence: Mid-July is a season of fullness, gratitude, and quiet preparation, honoring the Sun’s gifts while recognizing that the Wheel of the Year is already turning toward the harvest. Lammas is coming soon and we will give thanks for that harvest.
