it seems to me
the new normal must be
one no longer needs to apologize when they hurt or wrong someone
what are the new core moral values we keep
certainly no longer a need
to believe
when you hurt someone
even unintentionally
no longer need to say
sorry for making you feel that way
friendships have changed too
it’s no longer about both of you
just so long as one meets the other’s needs
I’m sorry you see
the new normal
doesn’t include me
can’t take that no more
I’m walking out
I’m firmly shutting the door
you’ll hurt me no more
