The Lost Bride Trilogy Help Please? and Other Books #Author’sCorner, #ReadingWithTheAuthors, #BookDiscussion

Hey readers out there.

I thought I saw somewhere where one of the community groups or somebody was reading the Lost Bride trilogy by Nora Roberts but when I go to NLS I only see one of the books and it’s the second in the trilogy.

Does anyone know anything about that trilogy?

Also, I just finished the Paul Madriani series. At least all the ones NLS has.

This series rocked. Even when Paul and Harry went rogue and went on a mission to catch a killer before he could kill them was awesome.

I enjoyed every one of them and if there are more than what I read I hope I find them.

Then, I found the book, The Simeon chamber: a novel DB39426

Martini, Steve. Reading time: 9 hours, 36 minutes.

Read by Ray Foushee.

Mystery and Detective Stories

Attorney Sam Bogardus’s irritation over his mother’s "referring" another client to him turns to interest when he hears Jennifer Davies’s story. Her father had been one of a two-man crew that disappeared from a naval blimp. Years later, Jennifer has received pages from a pirate’s journal with a note implying that her father is still alive. Sam’s investigation quickly turns ugly: he is attacked and his partner murdered. Strong language and violence.

Great for a day off or a day trip in the car.

I must say, The Simeon Chamber is one of the best books I’ve ever read. It captivated me from the very first page and I couldn’t put it away.

I found myself very glad for Bluetooth headphones so I could get up and clear up the house and it wouldn’t interfere with my reading.

I absolutely didn’t see the ending coming. Did not figure out the real murderer and was totally open mouthed at the way it all tied together.

The descriptions of one of the murdered victims is a bit graphic so if you have a squeamish stomach you might want to skip it.

I’ve read worse. LOL.

Anyhow, if you guys like that sort of book, check it out.

Here are the top three on my TBR list.

I have just discovered that The Housemaid Is Watching is book three of a series, and of course, NLS does not have the first two. So, I’ll be going to audible and spending my credit on the first one thanks.

LOL.

U.S. History

"On January 21, 1958, nineteen-year-old Charles Starkweather changed the course of crime in the United States when he murdered the parents and sister of his fourteen-year-old girlfriend (and possible accomplice), Caril Ann Fugate, in a house on the edge of Lincoln, Nebraska. They then drove to the nearby town of Bennet, where a farmer was robbed and killed. When Starkweather’s car broke down, the teenagers who stopped to help were murdered and jammed into a storm cellar. By the time the dust settled, ten innocent people were dead and the city of Lincoln was in a state of terror. Schools closed. Men with rifles perched on the roofs of their houses. The National Guard patrolled the street. If there is a cultural version of PTSD, the town suffered from it. Starkweather and Fugate’s capture and arrest, and the resulting trials about the killing spree, received worldwide coverage. The event would serve as the inspiration for the movie Natural Born Killers and Springsteen’s iconic album Nebraska. Today, the story has dropped far from the national consciousness. With new material, new reporting, and new conclusions about the possible guilt or innocence of Fugate, the tale is ripe for an updated and definitive retelling."– From publisher. Unrated. For now, my beer mug is empty and I’m ready to go and prop up on pillows, and download a book to read.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Hi Patty, I don’t know if they are available through NLS, but the first book in the series is called Inheritance. The second is The Mirror and the third is coming out in November 2025 and is called The Seven Rings. I did listen to the first two books on the Hoopla App, through my library. I hope this helps.

  2. Hi, Carla. For some reason they were not listed together as a series should be.
Another person pointed me to them and so I’m going to go and get them all.
I’m saving my audible credit for a book that’s coming out soon I’ve been waiting for. LOL.
    Happy reading.
