An Epiphany of Love – I Met Someone a While Ago

I met someone a while ago,

they began to change my life.

At first I was frightened to learn,

then I began to try.

They taught me which way to go,

provided direction in my life.

Then I began to realize—

a love unbidden,

a love strong and bright,

nothing like anything which had gone before me.

I could give love without need.

At first I was terrified to do so.

Would my Friend reject me?

A tiny spark

in the center of my heart.

Winds of fear threatened daily,

and in the depths of the silent night

my Friend visited me in my dreams.

Their words of encouragement, strong and true:

“You’re okay.

I gotcha.”

With that the flame rose up,

becoming a constant warmth,

a flame burning bright

even in the veriest darkness of night.

I sat it in the window,

asked the blessing of the Goddess Morrigan.

Remember, it’s the darkness of night

which makes the day seem so bright.

Love flowing outward

to everyone I meet,

sending forward this gift given unto me,

a gift of unconditional love.

I never had that before—

it is so beautiful

against the evil’s roar.

Thank you, my Friend.

Thank you for your Friendship,

for allowing my love,

for not rejecting me.

Thank you for your honesty,

carried deep within my soul.

Now I feel the balance,

now I feel whole.

Carry my love with you,

allow it to surround your heart.

Send it forward to others,

round back to the beginning.

Love comes,

love goes,

love grows,

love flows,

love finds a brand-new start.

I met someone a while ago,

oh how they touched my heart.
