I suppose when people saw today’s prompt they thought of writing nature related things. For me the first thing that came to mind when I read the description were thoughts of the early morning birds and how they, like me stay so busy.
Next thing I knew, my muse was jabbering and the following was born.
So Too Will You Soar
By: Patty L. Fletcher
June, 2020
Sitting here at my table in the kitchen with the refrigerator rumbling behind me, and the oven popping as it preheats in preparation for cooking the noon meal I find myself amazed that the entire first half of the day is gone.
I woke at just after 6 in the morning and as my feet hit the floor my workday began.
It started with a quick scroll through notifications so that I could see anything that might need immediate attention and from there, like the early morning birds soaring in the cloudy sky it launched itself into a frenzied kind of busyness that only continued to speed forward as the hours roared by.
I’ve done everything from catch up email, finish another chapter in a manuscript I’m working on and sending it off to my critique group to recording a podcast and it’s just now a few minutes after 12 of the clock.
When I read things like someone’s ranting on Facebook about how board they are I shake my head in wonderment at the memory of how I used to be that way.
I’m so glad that I got out of my head and into the reality of knowing that I could do anything I set my mind to.
I challenge those of you who are sitting around bemoaning your circumstances to rise out of the muck of despair and into the joy of living.
Take up a new craft. Begin a new study, do anything but remain as you are.
There is as long as we’re alive room for improvement. We can if we try learn to do something new.
The success begins with you.
Rather than saying I can’t, say I’ll try, and before you know it away through the clouds as the early morning birds, so too will you soar and fly.

We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.

Thanks for reading.
I just saw your offering for last week’s prompt.
Cool beans.
Only problem I have with Flash Fiction is that I always want more.
LOL.

June 18, 2020Hi Sue.
The trick for me was getting out of the mental trap in my head, and finding a way to succeed within my means, and then to find a way to grow wings and “soar” above them into a new place.
Wasn’t an easy thing but what good thing is truly easy?
Thanks for a great prompt.

June 18, 2020Most good things take a bit of effort…and it is worth it!
Patty
June 18, 2020I think so.
I suppose if people looked at the big picture where things like my finances and living situation are concerned they’d think I hadn’t increased all that much, but they’d be wrong.
And they’d also miss the point.

June 19, 2020I know that feeling, Patty. On the practical side, my life too continues to be precarious… but I am richer these days in all the things that matter.

June 19, 2020I figure if I’ve a place to live, a full belly at night when I go to sleep in my comfy bed with my big galoot of a dog, and a little work to take up the slack, I’m good.

June 20, 2020Hi Tasha.
I love the early morning. I never knew how wonderful early morning could be until I got Campbell.
Having him caused me to be up and outside for early morning workout and walking.
After that, there was no turning back.
