Smorgasbord Posts from Your Archives – #Potluck – Essay — Summer Weather Forecasting is for the Birds by HL Carpenter

  1. Thanks for sharing Patty..hugs

    1. Oh. You are so welcome. I very much enjoyed that. I totally agree that birds can forecast the weather. They are certainly letting me know this afternoon what is coming. More storms in our area. All the birds have run for cover.

Thank you for the reblog, Patty!

    1. Hi.

You’re very welcome. I enjoyed it very much. I do believe the birds can surely forecast the weather. I’ve seen evidence of it many times.

They can tell you when rain or snow is coming. You can tell when a storm is going to be very strong, and I believe they can communicate other things to us as well.

There have been times when I’ve been out walking early in the morning when the birds are singing, and then become suddenly very quiet that I’ve been alerted to danger by their behavior.

I feel that if people were more aware of their surroundings, and if they used all of their senses rather than just depending completely on their sight, they’d learn much more from not only the birds, but all the creatures of the planet on which they live.

I’ve been alerted to things by the chirping of crickets, by their sudden silence, or the quickening of their song. I’ve been alerted to things by the behavior of my dog, and other dogs in the neighborhood. Nature is here for us to not only enjoy but for us to communicate with as well.

This piece spoke to me in many ways.

Yes, nature has much to teach us. So glad you enjoyed the post–words like that mean a lot!

        1. Yes, letting someone know their post was enjoyed is important. It’s why I try to do it as often as is possible.

Sure, anyone can hit that ever present like button, but sometimes I think the like buttons of the world should be banned, and people should be given no choice but comment. The like button is making people lazy and less emotionally invested.

I like to let someone know when a post moves me in some way.

We love your attitude. And at the same time, must confess we are often the lazy ones hitting the like button. 🙁

          2. Well, don’t mean anything personal.

Just think the world is becoming all isolationests.

Then people wonder why there are so many communication issues, and relationship issues etc. Again, watch nature, if we lived as they do we’d do well.
