*Note*
I sat down to write this early Woden’s Day morning. I was called away from my desk before I could finish and honestly, other than to sit down to deal with an urgent need on the computer and try to read a few emails which multiply and divide worse than a Nest of rabbits, I’ve not been back here much at all. It’s wonderful and terrible all at once.
Anyhow, here’s what I wrote that day.
I’ve done things and taken more pics since this writing, but I’ve not gotten them situated yet.
Please enjoy the following offering and do visit again soon to see what else might come onto the scene.
Good morning, Patty’s Worlds Friends, and Followers.
I’m slowly returning from a week’s absence, while moving from Tennessee to Verginia.
Though the drive is 15 to 20 minutes from here to my old town of Kingsport Tennessee, it feels worlds away and there are still a lot of things to do.
I get a bit annoyed when people ask if I am settled. What the Hell?
I’ve services and systems to disengage from in Tennessee, and the same and more to deal with in Verginia.
Not to mention unpacking, finding a new bedroom suit because I didn’t bring mine due to the furniture falling apart and the mattress and boxsprings not even decent for the dog.
I’m starting over, and that’s just what I wanted, but it’s a lengthy process ahead before we’re settled.
We’re developing somewhat of a routine, but it will expand as we learn more.
I’m setup with the Commission for the Blind here in Bristol. They should have my paperwork for me to sign via mail today. Tomorrow at the latest.
They marked me a high priority because, and I’m quoting the man who took my call, “You’ve a guide dog and if you give too many wrong cues he is going to be seriously confused.”
I bet I said that 100,0000000 times in TN, but no one got it.
The Seeing Eye is to send someone too, but I’d like to give the O&M instructor a chance. At the very least he can teach me to navigate the apartment complexes outside areas and the transit system. Those two things are in my mind the first things I should learn.
I set up my living area, kitchen, and bathroom before anything. I put all the packed or partially packed items into the bedroom and then began to sort the boxes and totes into some sort of order around the room.
I wanted to create a walking path because when things were put in, they were tossed here and there in no order. I was left with the mess of sorting all that and it took me from Thursday Oct 3, to today, to just find most items necessary to daily life.
I’ve been learning to take pictures. Here’s a pic of the room as it was on the day of this writing.
I’ll have these done by my editor/illustrator, but for now, this gives an idea.

The image shows a corner of a room with a window on the left side. The window has two vertical panes and is partially open, allowing a view of buildings and greenery outside. Below the window, there is a cardboard box on the floor, partially visible.
In the center of the image, there are several stacked containers and boxes. At the bottom, there is a gray plastic container with a transparent lid, filled with various items. On top of this container, there is a blue plastic bin with a cardboard box labeled “Extra Long Frenchy Fries” placed on it. To the right of the blue bin, there is a large open cardboard box filled with various items, including a purple plush toy on top.
In the foreground, on the left side, there is a wooden table with a plastic bag on it. The walls of the room are plain and light-colored, and the floor is carpeted.
This description is provided by the Seeing AI App.
My emails are out of control. I have something ridiculous like 750 emails.
I will be going through all these over the next few days so please do not send multiple emails.
Please also be mindful of time differences. Blue and I start settling in for the night around 8 eastern. I do keep my phone turned on, and sometimes I attend Zoom events, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to take a call.
Blue is doing more work here than he’s done at once in a day with me since we’ve been together. Blue and I have been in a holding pattern for three freaking years because Tennessee couldn’t get its act together for its citizens who have blindness issues.
Now, he is working his ass off for me and at night he needs all of me.
If you and I have prearranged phone times, those are scheduled, wanted, and looked forward to.
For now, I’ve got to run. I have five more hours with my helper to straighten out last-minutes snags from Tennessee.
I will be back in business as soon as I’m able.
If you are a paid sponsor of Patty’s Worlds and your contract is paid up to date, you will be given an extra month at the end of that contract due to my sudden absence.
Thank you for your continued support and love as I make what is for me the biggest transition of my life.
I’m getting ready to turn 57 years old in November. My mother died at the age of 57 so I’m utterly amazed to be doing this now.
I like to think mom would be proud of me. I have for the first time in my life decided all on my own where and how I would live.
I only consulted Spirit and Blue when making the decision to move here. We were of one accord, I stated clearly what I wanted, and my true heart-felt intent, I got just what I requested.
I am happy.
For now, this is Team Blue saying, “Keep your nose to the ground and your tail waving at the sky.”
PS. Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue here. Mother hasn’t told you the other impressive thing she’s doing now. All this talk with her “Sponsors” about promoting herself, and she doesn’t do it.
I don’t know what to do with her, but I know what to tell you now.

Another thing momma is doing which sometimes annoys me, is taking pictures with her tele-bone.
But she did take one of me while I was investigating boxes. Here it is below.

A black dog is sitting on a carpeted floor in the corner of a room. To the left of the dog, there are two cardboard boxes stacked on top of each other. The top box has a partially open lid. In front of these boxes, there is a plastic bag with some contents inside. To the right of the dog, there is a large, partially collapsed cardboard box. The room has a window on the right side, through which a view of trees and buildings outside can be seen. The window has a black frame. The wall behind the dog is white, and there is a shadow cast on it.
