Hello, I hope you’re all doing well.

Here, the coffee is hot.

The weather is not, and that’s the way we like it.

Soon The Writer’s Grapevine Holiday Extravaganza December – January Edition will be out.

Until then, I and my contributors will be sharing our various ‘Sips of Wine from the Grapevine’ with you.

Here’s a piece, I began while having my morning coffee.

I hope you enjoy.

It’s Thanksgiving Eve. For many, the celebrations have begun.

Friends, families, arriving in homes, hotels, and motorhome parks greetings and visiting go long in the night.

Others, are wherever they call home, gathering virtually in events, such as the ACB Community Friendsgiving.

Either way, we’re all contemplating that for which we are grateful.

This year, I decided I was going to think through all the events over 2021 and 2022. Then, pick one which stands above the rest in my heart.

The one which leapt immediately to mind was May 2021, when my daughter and six grandchildren came from Mississippi to Tennessee to visit me for the first time in eight years.

Nothing will ever take pries place over that moment when my amazing, incredibly strong, beautiful daughter, stepped upon my porch, walked inside and said,

“Hi mom.”

I’m sure she said more, but all I can remember of those first moments is the wonderous, awe inspiring, beautiful terror swelling within my heart, and then the bliss of hugging her.

Holding the young woman, I gave birth to. Holding her and knowing I could take little credit for her success in a strong family, to be grateful for, which flowed around us as the kids streamed out of the van and into the house.

A family, made strong by consistent, Stabil, love.

Love given freely by my daughter Polly, loving mother, ready to do whatever is necessary to make life the best it can be for her children – my grandchildren. Nathan, a “great son-in-law” a loving strong fatherly presence, always there, even when away.

When I sat down with my second cup of coffee to write a greeting to you, I had no clue all this was going to pour out.

Now that it’s here, I have no intent of taking it back.

I salute you, Polly Hensly and Nathan hensley I salute you, with all my heart.

You’re precious in the eyes of the Creator.

You are precious in my constant thought.

You and the awesome family you’ve created, are precious in my Mind, Heart and Soul.

Thank you for being all you are and for all you do.

I love you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

May Harmony find You.

Blessid Be.
