Satisfied Saturn’s Day with Team Blue in VA

Good afternoon, Everyone.
I hope this post finds you well.
Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue our Friend/helper Cordelia and I headed out for Kingsport Tennessee a little after 9 this morning. It’s not a long drive and is a snap to do except when people act a fool and creep along.
We visited with our two favorite neighbors from our old apartment complex and enjoyed ourselves very much.
It was good to see old friends. We visited in both apartments, and Blue worked his way around fine once I got going in the right direction.
I was amazed that at first, I couldn’t quite get acclimated.
Once we’d been to both places Blue was starting to show a little interest in wanting to go up the hill to make our rounds.
I, however, decided I did not want to do that. Cordelia had other things going on and I knew Blue was fine to wait until we returned home to relieve.
Once home, with both of us relieved, I sat about clearing up the kitchen, making myself a microwave meal and setting out some rolls of ground turkey.
I want to make Hobos tonight. I have discovered I like using ground turkey better than beef and it allows me to make Blue something he can have with me for a healthy dog appropriate meal.
I do cook for Blue a few times a month. Blue’s health is amazing, and he loves it.
His hobo will consist of one plain turkey paddy and a scoop of mixed vegies containing potatoes, green beans, green peas, and corn.
No onion, no nothing else at all.
I’ll make a pound worth of plain ones for Blue and a pound of seasoned ones for me.
Mine will have the turkey paddy, vegies, and all but they will also be sprinkled liberally with smoked parsley chopped onion and garlic.
Right now, I’m curled up in my bed, propped up on pillows, alternating between writing this post and reading another book in the Lukas Davenport – Prey series.
It’s an amazing series, and I do not know why I waited so long to begin it.
Lots of people tell me I obsess with series because when I start one, if I like it, I read the entire thing before I start another.
If I need a break in between books, which is rare, I will read a short stand alone or listen to an evening of podcasts.
I’m not listening to as many news podcasts as I once did and I’m only listening to about 2-hours or so of news each day.
I get a national and local update in the mornings, and another in the afternoon. I suppose that is more like 3 or 4 hours when you put it all together but considering I used to leave NPR or CNN on all day long and never do anything else that’s fairly good.
I’m not trying to bury my head in the sand or not be aware of what’s going on. I’m trying to make sure I don’t allow myself to become either too depressed, or angry about our current situation politically.
Much I cannot control and I’ve a lot of good things happening in my life now.
Thanks to some wonderful Friends and Helpers who come when needed I’m able to enjoy life more fully again.
Someone asked me why I spend my early afternoons snuggled up in my bed. My answer? I get up early, I like to stretch my body during the day due to pain, and I tend to gravitate to my bedroom.
If I’m going to do serious challenging work, I sit at my desk. But for most things being with Blue here on the bed with my purple elephant named Ellie and my new stuffy Bluey I got for Christmas today is the best place for creating.
Speaking of which, it’s time to rest my back and neck a bit. Another reason I like to be here on my bed, I have quite a bit of arthritis and Fibromyalgia and after a long week, like this one has been, it’s nice to relax the old bones a bit.
For now, I leave you to do live as you wish and do as you will.
May Harmony find You.
Blessid Be.

  1. I’m with you, Patty. I only listen to an NPR news update in the morning when I have my smart speaker play my flash briefing. Later, I read my local newspaper online, which often has one or two positive local news stories. But that’s it as far as keeping up with current events is concern. I’m glad you and Blue had a satisfying day and wish both of you many more to come.

  2. Hi, Abbie.
I do read some newsletters from the New Yorker and the Washington Post.
I also read a lot of human interest stories. They give me ideas for setting scenes in books.
    🙂
