Good morning, and welcome to the Poetry Place. Today, Marlene Mesot has dropped by to share a bit of poetry with us.
While I still don’t know one type of poetry from another, I’m learning, and I don’t have to understand to enjoy.
Keep reading to enjoy Marlene’s poem with me.
Poetry Place: By the Lake Shore
(Butterfly Cinquain)

Summy
shore, hiss of breeze,
sighing softly through trees,
Faces up turn, curious. Sky
darkens.
Charcoal blanket makes people run.
Lake water churns, no fun.
Ice pellets plop.
Thunder.
