And now, read and share if you dare…
When I woke at just before 5:30 this morning, I did as I always do. Turned on the news, washed face, brushed teeth and hair, and then sat down with a hot cup of coffee.
While listening, I became disturbed at what I heard.
It appears our “Acting” President has overstepped the mark and is once again getting by with it.
It seems to me his sending federal law enforcement into cities to deal with protesters smacks our 1ST amendment in the face.
When even a mayor is teargassed while standing with protesters it appears to me it’s time to take a stand.
Now, I know that violence cannot be allowed to reign. I know that luting and burning of businesses must not happen, but from what I’m seeing all protests are being dispersed in a manner which is seriously infringing on our rights.
What exactly is the law?
The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both
promoting one religion over others
and
restricting an individual’s religious practices.
It guarantees
freedom of expression
by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to
assemble peaceably and to petition their government.
Wex article on the First Amendment
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
I sit here, trying to make sense of it all while reading articles such as…
Trump ‘Trying To Look Strong’ By Sending Federal Agents To …
www.npr.org › 2020/07/19 › like-adding-gasoline-orego…
After reading this article I must wonder how long we’re going to stand for Donald Trump’s behavior. How long must law abiding citizens deal with being pushed around by the US Bully?
His rantings on Twitter are an embarrassment. His inability to understand basic information which is necessary for running the country is a disaster. The ways in which he has spoken of and dealt with the Corona Virus is “Deadly.”
We must rise up. We must take our country back, and we mustn’t allow this man to keep destroying that which we’ve worked so hard over these many years to achieve.
Our “Acting” President’s inability to view things on a broad scale, to know when and when not to keep his mouth shut, not to mention his racist and discriminating view, is quite literally ripping unrepairable holes in the very fabric of society.
Even after he is gone, and I’m not sure that will happen in this election, the damage he and those who are like him, and those who have not done as they should to fight him have wrought will take many years, perhaps even a decade or longer to repair, and some will never be undone.
Our country as well as the entire world has been forever changed by its leader’s despicable behavior.
There is simply no other choice but for all of us to do the absolute best we can to create the most positive outcome.
We must speak out against that which we don’t wish to allow. We must do so with factual and educated presented information. We must not give into bullying, argumentative, angry voice, and we must above all be willing to live every day without fail our beliefs.
To simply go along to get along is no longer enough. To do anything else other than this will only lead to more damnation for not only our country but the entire world now, and those who will come after us for centuries to come.
I say to you…
Vote!
Vote in your local, state, and federal elections.
Write your Senators, Representatives, Congressmen and even our “Acting” President.
Speak your wishes out loud. Don’t sit passively by. Our country was once great and it can be again but not if we who love her don’t make it so.
For now, I wish you, Justice and Liberty for All.
Blessid Be.
