Hi, Abbie. You’re welcome. I know you’ll be blogging on WP. That’s rather obvious with the read more link. But if you’d like to draw people to your Substack, I thought to bring them in this way made more sense. People won’t ever visit there if you don’t give them a reason.
I know what you mean, Patty. The same content will go both places. I’ll alternate locations when sharing on Facebook so that my followers there aren’t getting the same content from both places. I hope that makes sense. Thanks again.
Yes, but eventually if you want to keep that Substack going you wiill have to put full pieces or other people’s pieces there because people will get tired of the double click all the time.
For that reason, I don’t link between my WordPress and Substack posts. That way, followers to either platform aren’t reading the same content twice. And for that reason, I don’t post both the links to Substack and WordPress on Facebook. I hope this is clear now.
Well, the whole point is to draw to your blog and if you’re not putting read more links in you’re doing no good, and also occasionally you need to put a full post. IF people are always having to first click on a Substack link and then a blog link they will stop reading. People get tired of the double click. You’re really not getting out of any of your social media what you should be getting out of it, see your email.

July 20, 2026Thank you, Patty, for sharing this. I’ll still be blogging on WordPress, but I’ll be posting content in both locations.
