Good Awesome Friday to All!
Lots of things have come to pass since last we visited so I’ve decided to share them here in this way with you.
Reading over my writing before I send it out into the world, I see a common theme and know I must take a breath, step out on complete faith and walk the pathway set before me. I’ve been given sign and it is now time to act.
Thanks in advance for reading. Your thoughts are welcome. Please feel free to comment on the site or email: patty.volunteer1@gmail.com for private communication.
Random Ramblings Part 3 – Morning in the Afternoon – the Draw of the Tarot and Community Connect
By Patty L. Fletcher – Lady Laya Moon Walker
March 16, 2022
“Holy Cow!” I said as I yawned and stretched in my recliner. “1:30 in the afternoon. So much for not napping in the middle of the day. Oh well, if Blue were here, he’d have agreed with my napping. Long as his tummy is full, his bladder is empty and he gets to work, walk, and play with me he doesn’t care what we do if he gets to do it with me.
“I cannot wait to have him home.” I murmured to myself as I washed my face, brushed my hair, and tied it into a low ponytail and then, though it was middle of the day, I headed for the coffeepot. I needed a cup of coffee like a man in a desert needs a drink of water.
Once the coffee had been set to brew, I settled in a chair to wait. While there, I took stock of myself. I had no real pain, no nausea in the pit of my stomach, which had been the norm upon waking for the past month before I’d had my surgery. Though it had been barely 1 week and a day since my Gallbladder had been removed, I felt better than I’d done in a while.
I was eating anything I wanted and had already been outside to sit in the sun both days this week. Had it not rained all day, I’d be there now. Oh, I was a bit sore here and there, my incisions itched some and at times if I sat in one position too long or moved too quickly a certain way, they burned a bit but nothing like when I’d first come home and certainly not like I’d felt after going on the van to see to Eddie just 72 hours off the operating table.
*Attention Gallbladder patience! Don’t try that at home! *
I’ve kept a low profile the last few days. I want to be very specific where use of energies is concerned. So, this afternoon, I took a few minutes to pop into the ACB Community Connect call. It and the ACB Presents the Daily Schedule morning call are two of my favorites. Though I didn’t stay the entire time, it was good to say hi and to send out thanks to all those who have been supporting me during my recovery.
Sitting quietly, after leaving the chatter of the call, I thought about the cards I’d drawn from my Tarot deck earlier in the day. I’d not had time to look up their meanings and though I knew the basics I wanted to see exact keywords and consider them along with current events.
Studying them one at a time brought me up short. Card after card held specific meaning in each portion of my life. I was in ways too many to count more prosperous than I’d been in nearly 4 years. I could get hung up on how I got in that mess, or I could concentrate on and be proud of how I got out.
I was however, fairly trashed from the experience. After finally landing in this community, I found I was every bit as content to walk my big Blue dog and sit in the sun getting to know my neighbors and making some friends. I’d been on the edge with my toes lipping over the side for so long now, I was still getting used to the feeling having that weight off my shoulders had brought.
I never wanted to become so relaxed I became careless but it sure felt good to be free.
Now, my Gallbladder surgery was behind me, and I’d made up my mind, it was time for Blue and I to get on with the business of enjoying our lives.
Though I’d been dipping my toe into getting out amongst the masses at least as best as one can during continuing COVID challenges can do, I’d still not fully explored what Blue and I were capable of. Now, I was well it is high time to find out.
“
Blue and I are gonna bounce this town over on its ear” I laughed as I gathered the detritus of my day from the desk.
“Nice to see this here too. I’m seriously starting to feel more like myself. Screwed my sleeping schedule all to Narnia and back but otherwise I am feeling fine.”
Tossing Pepsi cans in the trash and cups into the sink I listened to the BBC News World Service report on news items, and it is interesting and enlightening to hear their perspective on things.
Tomorrow is the big day. The day the Big, Blue Dog returns. I must get sleep, so I go quietly through the apartment, setting things right, turning off one light whilst turning on another.
I imagine I can hear Blue’s bell chiming bedtime as he bounces from the floor to his side of the bed, flopping down with a moan and sigh only as a Big, Blue Dog can do, and I smile.

Card – 7 of Pentacles
Drawn 03/16/2022
Seven Of Pentacles Keywords
UPRIGHT: Long-term view, sustainable results, perseverance, investment.
REVERSED: Lack of long-term vision, limited success, or reward.
Seven Of Pentacles Description
In the Seven of Pentacles, a man leans on his hoe, gazing down at his abundant crop. He has worked long and hard to nurture tiny seeds into this thriving garden and can now take a break to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Note the expression in his face, however: he also looks fatigued – even a little ‘over it’ – from having worked so hard for this successful harvest. Success comes from hard work and patience, but this card reminds you to take care not to overdo it and exhaust yourself.
Card – Queen of Swords
Drawn 03/16/2022
Queen Of Swords Keywords
UPRIGHT: Independent, unbiased judgement, clear boundaries, direct communication
REVERSED: Overly-emotional, easily influenced, bitchy, cold-hearted
Queen Of Swords Description
The Queen of Swords sits on a stone throne decorated with a cherub, representing the Queen’s softer side, and butterflies representing transformation. She faces towards the future, with her left hand raised as if to receive, and in her right hand, she holds a sword up high and straight, representing her desire to find the truth in all matters. As with the earlier Swords Court cards, clouds accumulate in the sky and a strong wind that passes through the trees, symbolizing the ongoing nature of change.
Card – 2 of Wands
Draw 03/16/2022
Two Of Wands Keywords
UPRIGHT: Future planning, progress, decisions, discovery
REVERSED: Personal goals, inner alignment, fear of unknown, lack of planning
Two Of Wands Description
The Two of Wands shows a man, dressed in a red robe and hat, holding a small globe. The world is literally in his hands, marking the enormous potential before him if he can expand his horizons accordingly. He stands within the confines of his castle, suggesting that while he is contemplating significant opportunities, the man has not yet left his comfort zone to pursue them; he is still very much in the planning phase. His hand rests on an upright wand, and a second wand is affixed to the castle’s wall, a further sign that he is still not ready to venture out. In the background, the land is fertile while also rocky, promising that he has a good chance for success, so long as he can overcome the challenges that will arise.
NOTE: The Tarot card meaning description is based on the Rider Waite cards.
Random Ramblings Part 4 – Captivity – Release – Renew – Reunion
By Patty L. Fletcher – Lady Laya MoonWalker
March 17, 2022
Saint Patrick’s Day
Moon Phase Waxing Gibbous
The cards fell from the deck as I shuffled. I seemed to have no control. One after the other they tumbled onto the desk in front of me. I felt a force as each one landed.
“This is no accident.” I whispered to myself as I gathered the cards.
“Four of them. How odd. Not one, three, five or seven. But four. Does that signify? Something tickles my memory, but it won’t come. Maybe later.
Now, I sit quietly contemplating each card. Let’s start with the first one to fall. Running my fingers lightly over the delicate dots which formed the name of the card I’d drawn, ‘The Devil’ I thought about the shadows of the past which were for reasons unknown haunting me.
To my knowledge, I’d not been thinking about those times in my life, yet I woke this morning with Donnie on my mind, almost to the point of feeling his energy present.
Later in the morning, I felt Bobby. Though not nearly as evil, still not someone I want to draw back into my life.
Darkness, addiction and possibly death follow him. No, not again.
Finally, I’m able to pull my mind together. I draw the next card. Am I still making mistakes? I must beware. Must take care of that which I’ve been given and not let it slip away whilst lamenting foolishly about things which nothing can be done.
I continue to scan the cards. I’m reminded of the wonderful treasures I’ve received over the past few months as well as all the opportunity which lay before me.
Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue will be back from Spring Break, back on the case more eager than before.
My heart shivers with excitement as I think of him bouncing all over the apartment this afternoon. Though he’ll be on leash beside me much of the evening, I don’t think either of us will mind.
Oh, to have his thick, soft fur back at my fingertips and my arms around his warm muscular body.
He will nuzzle, snuggle, and love.
“Blue’s a little bit rotten.” The song goes. Whisper in his ear. Kiss on the top of the head, “Sugar Lump. Momma’s Big, Blue Dog.”
Still, the cards haunt me, and I know there are many things to contemplate. Many things the good and kind Creator is signifying to me, and it is my job to decipher, learn from and seek what I must do next.
Whether years passing away not to be relived, or turning in a constant cycle, it is time to go “Forward” in my journey.
I’m troubled and triumphant and eager to take the next challenge of life.
Gods save and protect me. Save and Protect Us All.
May Harmony find Us as we struggle through the chaos of those given the task of leading cause.
Blessid Be.

Card – The Devil
Draw 03/17/2022
The Devil Keywords
UPRIGHT: Shadow self, attachment, addiction, restriction, sexuality
REVERSED: Releasing limiting beliefs, exploring dark thoughts, detachment
THE DEVIL DESCRIPTION
The Devil card shows Baphomet, or the Horned Goat of Mendes, a creature that is half man, half goat. Baphomet originally represented the balance between good and evil, male,
and female, and human and animal; however, more recently, this figure has been linked to the occult and has become a scapegoat for all things considered ‘evil’.
The Devil has the wings of a vampire bat, an animal that sucks the lifeblood out of its prey, symbolic of what happens when you give in to your raw desires. He has a hypnotic stare which ‘magnetizes’ and entrances those who come near him, bringing them under his power. Above him is an inverted pentagram – a sign of the darker side of magic and occultism. He raises his right hand in the Vulcan Salute – a Jewish blessing, later made famous by the film series, Star Trek. In his left hand, he holds a lit torch.
At the foot of The Devil stand a man and a woman, both naked and chained to the podium on which The Devil sits. They appear to be held here against their will – but look closer, and you will notice that the chains around their necks are loose and could be easily removed. Each has small horns on their head, like the devil’s, a sign that they are becoming increasingly like him the longer they stay here. Both have tails, a further symbol of their animalistic tendencies and raw instincts, and the grapes and the fire on their respective tails signify pleasure and lust.
Card – 5 of Cups
Draw 03/17/2022
Five Of Cups Keywords
UPRIGHT: Regret, failure, disappointment, pessimism.
REVERSED: Personal setbacks, self-forgiveness, moving on.
Five Of Cups Description
The Five of Cups shows a man in a long black cloak looking down on three cups that have been knocked over – symbolic of his disappointments and failures. Behind him stand two cups representing new opportunities and potential, but because he is so fixed on his losses (the over-turned cups), he misses the opportunities available to him.
In the background, a bridge crosses a large, flowing river and leads to the security of the castle or home on the opposite side of the riverbank – if only he can move on from the over-turned cups. The bridge is a message to ‘build a bridge and get over it!’
Card – Ace of Pentacles
Draw 03/17/2022
Ace Of Pentacles Keywords
UPRIGHT: A new financial or career opportunity, manifestation, abundance
REVERSED: Lost opportunity, lack of planning and foresight
Ace Of Pentacles Description
The Ace of Pentacles depicts a hand emerging from the clouds, much like the Aces of the other suits. A large coin sits in the cupped palm, freely available to whoever has the wherewithal to take it. It is as if a new opportunity, associated with wealth, business, and manifestation, has appeared out of nowhere and is now being extended to you in all its glory. The impetus is now on you to accept this offer and turn it into something meaningful and sustainable.
The landscape in this card is lush and abounding: a garden brimming with green grass and white lilies. A small path leads to an archway, wrapped in beautiful foliage and flowers and, beyond the arch, mountain peaks soar in the horizon. This verdant imagery signals that the time is ripe to move forward with your career and financial ambitions. While it will require hard work and determination (scaling mountains is no easy task), the Ace of Pentacles encourages you to make the most of this opportunity while it’s in its most abundant state.
Card – King of Wands
Draw 03/17/2022
King Of Wands Keywords
UPRIGHT: Natural-born leader, vision, entrepreneur, honour
REVERSED: Impulsiveness, haste, ruthless, high expectations
King Of Wands Description
The King of Wands sits on his throne, holding a blossoming wand in his hand, a symbol of life and creativity. His throne and cape are decorated with lions and salamanders, both symbols of fire and strength. The salamanders biting their own tails represent infinity and the ongoing drive to move forward against all obstacles.
