Put on Your Masks and Roll Up Your Sleeves by Abbie Johnson Taylor #AuthorsCorner

While COVID19’s Delta variant grips the United States and the rest of the world, people still aren’t taking this virus seriously. In Florida, the governor has refused to impose a mask mandate and threatened to defund school districts that do, and as a result, school districts have imposed opt-out mask mandates, meaning that parents can send their children to school on the first day with a note saying they don’t want their children to wear masks, which won’t do any good because many parents will probably opt out. Texas’s governor has ruled that no establishment can mandate mask-wearing, but many school districts are attempting to defy that, which I applaud.

  1. Thank you, Patty, for allowing me to guest post here. I hope everyone will take the advice given on my blog to heart.

  2. I don’t understand why wearing a mask is such a big issue abroad. It is compulsory here in South Africa and people wear them without protest. They help keep us safe.

    1. Hi Robbie, I’m going to probably step on some toes here but I must answer your question honestly.
Americans are in a word, “Selfish”
      They’re also “Control Freaks.”
So, to put it quite bluntly, they think of no one but themselves and they don’t like to be asked to do anything let alone told.
I’m going to seriously go right out on a limb here and state that I believe we should have one policy for our entire country and that until we all are doing the same things to help control this virus it is never going away.
      So that’s my soapbox comment.
And now, I can hear people unfollowing my blog.
      and what’s more, I guess I don’t care.
I wear my mask with pride. I carry my vaccine card with pride.
As I was flying to and from The Seeing Eye I ran into some of the rudest uncaring hateful snotty people I have ever met in my life.
Then again, I also ran into some who were like me, considerate and thoughtful of others.
OK seriously must come down off my soapbox. LOL.
