Prayer – Dogs – Sun – three poems by author Trish Hubschman

By Trish Hubschman

Say a prayer for someone you don’t know.

They are sure to need it.

Say a prayer for a friend.

They will certainly appreciate it.

Say a prayer for a loved one.

You will get a smile in return.

Say a prayer for a deceased person,

So, they will be sure to rest in peace.

Say a prayer for yourself.

You’ll have more confidence and hope.

Always say prayers because they help,

No matter who or what they’re given for.

It is

Quite disturbing

Dogs are not leashed

When going for a walk.

This is against the rules and law.

But people just aren’t concerned.

It’s also dangerous

For the dog too.

It’s sad. Law.

Sun Talk

By Trish Hubschman

Good morning world,

Well, almost.

I must check my watch.

This daylight savings thing confuses me.

I stay in bed longer in the morning,

Not my favorite thing to do.

I’ve always been an early riser.

But not between March and November.

I must stay up later then,

In, what’s supposed to be, evening.

I shine bright and hot,

Really force it out,

When folks are relaxing in their recliners

Watching Jeopardy.

I probably annoy people.

Oh well, not my fault.

Go tell the moon.

He stole my daytime job.

And, one other thing,

If he stops in front of me again,

Blocking my beauty,

I’ll give him a piece of my mind,

Or punch him in the face.
