Hello everyone, I’d like to invite you to revisit this post.
Thanks to friend and fellow author and client Abbie Johnson Taylor I’ve become aware that the first link used in this post didn’t work correctly. So, I’m reposting with a corrected link graciously provided by Abbie.
This just goes to show that one must never take their fellow bloggers for granted. It’s great when people watch out for one another.
Thanks, Abbie, for your response.
And now, ‘Paws on the Street Part Five: Just the Two of Us’
This morning, I woke to leg cramps, aching knee and shin bones and slightly swollen ankles.
I felt like my entire body and for a moment all I wanted was to crawl back into bed, pull the covers over my head and hide from what lie ahead.
Then, I heard Blue wiggling in his crate, his tail thumping out a ratatat Ratatat rhythm and in that moment all my hurts, worries and fears melted away.
Later, when we went out to relieve when I squatted to pick up after him, I found I could barely get down to get the job done and when an instructor named Oscar came along offering a hand, I gratefully took his help back to my feet.
Back in our room a few moments later as Blue rested obediently in his crate waiting for his breakfast, it occurred to me that we were in the last day of our training here in the protection of The Seeing Eye bubble and for a moment the panic nearly swept me away.
Just when I thought I might go over the falls a snatch of a song popped into my head and taking a breath to steady myself I called “Alexa, play just the two of us.”
As the music washed over me and Blue came to gobble up his breakfast, I knew everything would be A-OK.
Later as Blue led me into the community lounge for my first cup of morning brew I felt a sense of confidence flowing between us and once again began to sing our song.
I know that no matter what lies ahead for us as we begin our journey together, we can if we allow ourselves to depend on one another and no one else overcome any obstacles placed in our path.
We are Team Blue. We are one yet we are we.
We are Team Blue So! Mote! It! Be! Blessid Be!
Amen.
Grover Washington Jr. – Just the Two of Us (feat. Bill Withers …
I see the crystal raindrops fall
And the beauty of it all
Is when the sun comes shining through
To make those rainbows in my mind
When I think of you sometime
And I wanna spend some time with you
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
(Just the two of us)
Just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us
You and I
We look for love, no time for tears
Wasted water’s all that is
And it don’t make no flowers grow
Good things might come to those who wait
Not for those who wait too late
We gotta go for all we know
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
(Just the two of us)
Just the two of us
Building them castles in the sky
Just the two of us
You and I
I hear the crystal raindrops fall
On the window down the hall
And it becomes the morning dew
And darling when the morning comes
And I see the morning sun
I wanna be the one with you
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
(Just the two of us)
Just the two of us
Building big castles way on high
Just the two of us
You and I
Just the two of us
(We can make it, just the two of us)
Let’s get it together baby (yeah)
(Just the two of us)
Just the two of us
(We can make it, just the two of us)
(Just the two of us)
(We can make it, just the two of us)
(Just the two of us)
(We can make it, just the two of us)
(Just the two of us)
(We can make it, just the two of us)
(Just the two of us)
(We can make it, just the two of us)
(Just the two of us)
