Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you doing well. Here, I’m just about ready to toss all devices and people out the window and go into hiding.
First, yesterday, I screwed up and told Siri to be quiet. Well, of all the times for it to do as it was told, it did just what I asked.
After fiddling around with it for nearly an hour, I finally got frustrated and reset all my settings. That solved the problem and in fact solved several more.
So, that’s good right?
Yes, it is. But wait, there’s more.
‘Of course,’ you say, with you, there’s always more.
Not long ago, I got notice from Straight talk that they were going over to Verizon and that I’d need to put a new sim card in my phone. They sent said card to me, but I had no one to put it in so I hadn’t done it when yesterday, I got a message saying my number was being transferred over to the new carrier and no action was required from me.
‘Why did they make a big deal out of the card then?’ I wondered and went on with my day.
Well, this morning, I woke up to no phone service. The card must go in. So, when my helper got here, I thought she’d be able to resolve this for me, but she cannot get the place where the card goes in to open so I’m back to square one.
‘Go to a pone center.’ You say.
No, can do. They no longer assist with things like this. Why? Yeah, you guessed it. COVID.
So, now, I have no phone service and I’m one pissed off lady.
If that were all I probably could deal with it. I mean sooner or later; someone will come along who can get the card in and in the meantime, I do have a landline for emergencies. I can still text and Facetime with iPhone people so it’s not like I’m in a cave.
But wait, yes, you guessed it, there’s yet more.
While all this phone drama was going on, I have a neighbor who needs help with some things, one being laundry and so I have someone doing mine and I asked her if she’d like to make a little more money and take his as well. She said she could do that, but she couldn’t start until next week, so I decided to let him know and to tell him that he could put a couple outfits into my laundry so he wouldn’t be totally without clean clothes.
I called him and left a voicemail, and he came over, knocked on my door and had the nerve to bitch at me because his phone is almost out of minutes. Gees. Dude, I’m freaking trying to help you. I thought but didn’t say.
Anyhow, he has resolved his issue for this week, I’ll let the two meet and she can decide if she wants to work with the crusty old thing or not.
For now, I’m ready to toss everything and everyone away and go into hiding for the weekend.
I’m getting my housework done as needed though so I guess I can be glad for that.
For now, I bid you a great day. I’m determined to make it a great day despite all the drama going on around me.
Thanks for reading if you did.
May harmony find you and when it does, please pass some to me.
