National Poetry Month Day Two: Because a Poem by author Trish Hubschman

Because

By Trish Hubschman

Day 2 NPM

Why is the sun yellow and the sky blue?

Why is the grass green,

Or supposed to be.

Why do the trees grow so tall and the flowers smell pretty?

Why do dogs bark when children run around and play,

Or simply when the mailman  comes?

Why do people blow leaves into the street

And the wind scatter them all over the place.

So many questions.

Nobody has the answers.

But I know,

And it’s so simple.

It’s because…

Nothing more.

Nothing less.
