Evening Bright
By Trish Hubschman
Day 5 NPM
The night darkness comes later now.
Daytime is so much longer
Clocks read the same as before.
But it’s different.
The evening darkness goes to morning darkness.
We sleep later,
Are more rested,
And are stronger for the day.
Christmas Glee
(An Acrostic)
By Trish Hubschman
Christmas day started before daybreak.
Holiday excitement soared through my veins
Resting was not an option.
I had to know what I got for gifts.
Santa had come the previous night.
The rules were I had to wake the older kids first.
Mom and Dad came next.
All of us would go sit by the tree.
So may presents for a family of six.
Garland was strung around the tree so pretty.
Lamp light was on since it was still dark.
Except for our dog, Muffins,
Everyone was waiting.

April 6, 2023I just noticed that these 2 poems are in different seasons, different time frames, sporing and winter. That wasn’t intentional.

April 6, 2023Hi Trish, it’s a poetic synchronicity.
Very enjoyable.
