Just Say Hi

By Trish Hubschman

Whatever the language,

Wherever the place,

The nicest word to say Is hello.

Aloha, Ni Hao, Namaste,

G ’day mate, Hola, ciao.

Give a warm welcome, a fond greeting.

Hold out YOUR hand and shake mine.

Hawaiian, Chinese, Indian,

Australian, Spanish, Italian.

Congeniality can go so far.

It all starts with one little word.

Just say hi.

History lesson

By Trish Hubschman

1776 is a memorable date.

It all started in the keystone state.

The colonies wanted to stand on their own,

So they had to sever ties with the throne.

A violent war was fought and won.

Now, the American flag flutters beneath the sun.

I had 3 people helping me research “hello” words in other languages. It was so much fun. And the history poem just kind of fell out of me. I am having so much fun with NPM.

  2. Hey! Trish. Those were great and again, similar and different at once.
    Awesome.
