Mother Earth Awakes and A Plea

Mother Earth Awakes and A Plea

Mother Earth Awakens

the flurry of wings
patter of rain
scent of Mother Earth
coming to life
dried cracked surfaces
waiting for those first drops with parched lips
crevices yawning open crusted black clots of dirt leftover from the harshness of winter

raindrops are welcome
welcome in readiness for the coming day
the day of rebirthing
the day a new life is born
Mother Earth awakens
awakens from a long winter’s snore
geese honking good morning
good morning as the sun begins to rise
so to do they take wing and wind
rise up
take flight
splashes in the water
loud
quack
quack
quack
splash
into the water
a line forms
swimming quickly by
right beneath me
still no photo
the little brats
escaped me again
Blue sniffs happily beside me
for a moment
just a big black dog
enjoying the early morning
as the sun rises and begins burning off the fog
we also must rise
rise to the challenge set before us like children staying after school
you know it is you I’m speaking to
you know
you know it is true

A Plea

"If you are turning towards me know I turn also to you and come to me in love If you are thinking of me Know I think also of you and come to me in love If you are saying my name know that I say your name and call you to me and come to me in love"
