Morning News Blues
By Patty L. Fletcher

listening to the morning news

gives me a dose of the daily blues

but I refuse to let it keep me down

I know one day this mess will be turned up side down

one day those who long for a day

when all will belong and “all are created equal” will mean just that

last night I had a dream

on waking I wanted to scream

must not give voice

remember it’s just a dream

however I know

if it should come true

those like me expect to be harassed

we know though more than ever will be taken this time

one day it will be set right

I call the forces of dark

I call the forces of light

I decree the balance will be set right

listening to the morning news

gives me a daily dose of the morning blues

must not allow the demons to win

must be strong

must stop it again

Some entries also include actual photographs.

Have you been through a hurricane…on a ship, seen balls of fire and strange flashes in the sky, dodged tornados while driving, seen a vivid or double rainbow or experienced strange rain patterns, unexpected torrential storms, different weather patterns at the same time, or woken to find myriads of giant snowballs everywhere?

Look inside for these awe-inspiring stories told from a personal perspective, including short autobiographies and where to find these remarkable authors.

A most heart felt poem, Patty

    1. Hello, Robbie.
Thanks, so much for reading my poem.
Thanks, also for commenting to let me know your reaction.
      Much-appreciated.
I have been looking through my poetry and it looks as though, I’ve got enough poetry now, for a small book and am considering it while I continue writing my series.
Working with you and others has inspired me.
I can only hope my editor can take what I write and make it presentable in its intended form.
      Have a lovely day.
