Morning Journal – A Strange Awakening

Moon Fase Waxing Gibbous
I woke up this morning, feeling hung over and somehow, disconnected. I’d known last night when I went to sleep, I’d be groggy when I woke, because I’d forgotten to take my late afternoon meds and though it wouldn’t hurt anything to take them with my night time meds, I knew it would leave me in a bit of a fog. What I’d not prepared myself for, was the apparent out of body experience I’d had during the night. I suppose, I should be honest and state, I did cast magik before I went to bed. I took the time to wash up at the bathroom sink and to brush my hair until it hung in long, smooth curls. Then, I’d cast a circle of protection around the bed where Blue and I slept and asked to be shown what I needed to know.
Even now, the words I’d said, as I cast the circle, ring clear in my head. “I summon stir and call ye up. East, South, West and north. Powers I know to be. Powers which strengthen and impower me and this magik work I do. I ask you surround Blue and me, where we sleep. I ask you protection keep. Then, once we’re asleep, I ask you, show me what I need to see. Open my third eye and let me see. As I will. As she will. As we will. So, Mote, It Be. Blessid Be, Amen.”
Then, remembering I’d forgotten to pick a stone from my window seal I got back out of bed and chose one, but as I got back into bed, I was suddenly unsure which stone it was. There were several kinds ranging from a piece of petrified wood, which although not a stone has earth bound quality which now I think of it, might have been the best to use, since I’d hoped to stay tethered while traveling, to tourmaline which also wouldn’t be a bad choice but looking back, not being sure and knowing crystals each contain their own power and purpose was a bad idea.
I’d had them all in order from left to right but somehow they’d become scattered and out of order and my not having memorized which were which by feel yet, I should have either somehow made sure of which was which or left them where they were. There was already a rose quarts stone in my elephant pouch and I should have let that be enough.
Anyhow, this morning, when I woke up, not only did I have a medication fog but I was completely disoriented and disconnected. I didn’t realize it at first. I went into the kitchen, flipped on the coffeepot and as I stumbled back to the bathroom for my morning routine, I said, “Damn I knew I’d need the coffee to be ready to start but I had no idea I’d feel quite like this.”
I didn’t really become aware something was wrong though, until I began readying my cup for the coffee to come. As I worked to heat the half and half and put in the little bit of sugar, I allowed myself, things began to go weird. First, the cup I wanted to heat the half and half in was buried in the dish drainer. Every time I tried to get it out, things fell overtop of it. Frustrated, I grabbed a coffee canister I’d saved to put sugar in and went to the cabinet to put it away. When I tried it wouldn’t go in so thinking the cabinet was too full I went to another. Still the stupid thing didn’t want to go. “Damn it! Kitchen! What’s your problem?” I snarled as I shoved the canister in and slammed the door.
Then, realizing I had to open a new pack of sugar I declared, “Blast it! I just put the thing away and now I need it again.”
A moment later, when I began pouring the sugar into the canister I’d just forced into the cabinet, I also began coming fully to myself and realized, something was wrong. As I poured the now warmed half and half and sugar into my insulated cup I began to chant. “There is no part of our life which does not belong to the Goddess. There is no part of our body which does not belong to the goddess. We are she and she is we as we will. As she will. As we all will. Blessid Be.” For a moment I wondered why I’d said it that way. It wasn’t the normal way. Then, as I began my morning prayers, Blue came bumbling into the room. “Oh hell! How stupid am i?” I asked the air. “He traveled with me. Damn! Why can’t I remember.”
I cannot remember what we did or where we went but fragments are coming back. I’m hopeful when we take our morning walk later, it will come back to me. I’ve a designated place for magik along my route. If I’m feeling more grounded by then, I may try and look back to last night while we’re out but it will depend on how many people are around. I certainly don’t want to be in a trance and have someone walk up and talk to me.
For now, the coffee is hot and the weather is not and that’s the way the chief and I love it. There’s no danger afoot but there is some presence here. I am certain something happened last night, I just don’t know what. What I do know is that what I chanted while making my first cup of what is for me surely a magik brew is true. Our lives and bodies are of the creator, no matter what name we call. Blue is powerful in his own right and I’m only sorry I’m just now realizing how much and what kind. I suppose I’ve been frightened to see and accept it. But it is what it is and I’m glad.
My tale for now is done. I thank you for reading all the way to the end. May Harmony find You and Blessid Be.

March 29, 2023Hi, Trish. I’m feeling much better. Ate a huge breakfast, then cleaned up the mess I made cooking it and took a good walk to burn some of it off.
Now, finally I’m getting to the business of the day.
