Living in the South

By Trish Hubschman

February 2024

Nearly four months have passed,

We’ve been in our new home,

In a different state.

Its a different life.

We love it.

We haven’t done much,

By way of outside fun.

That’s okay right now.

Just settling in.

We love it.

We fenced in the backyard,

So, our dog can go outside.

We put a storm door in front,

So, he can look out that way too.

We love it.

Getting to know the area, Doctors and stores.

Getting to know the neighbors.

Riding around in the golf cart.

It’s all so much fun.

We love it.

It’s wintertime now

And today is chilly,

But there’s been no snow, just rain,

With nice, warm, sunny days stuffed in-between.

We love it.

When the spring comes back,

In just a few weeks,

We’ll find more social events.

B right now all is fine.

We love it.

Supposed to be 70 degrees today in the Carolinas. And the calendar reads Feb 100th.

    1. Currently, it’s 54 with showers.
