Join The Writer’s Grapevine Community #Group #Tip #Magazine

Hello:

I’d like to invite you to join The Writer’s Grapevine Community.

Before you sign up, I’d like to invite you to read what I’ve written here about what the group is and why I created it.

Once you’ve done so, following the instructions at the end, please feel free to join us.

This morning, I want to talk to you about why I created this group.

The writersGV@groups.io group is an extension of the Writer’s Grapevine Magazine, but it is much more…

The group description from our website, which all should  read when accepting your invite to join says…

This group is for readers and reader contributors of The Writer’s Grapevine.

The writer’s Grapevine is a monthly news and literary magazine featuring Writers, Small Business and Nonprofits.

In each issue you’ll find a variety of Articles, Essays, Short Stories and Poems for your enjoyment and education.

Subscribing to this group will allow you to…

·         Receive monthly editions of the magazine and all things related.

·         Be in direct contact with magazine contributors. And…

·         Have conversations about what you read in the magazine.

There are only a few group rules and they are…

·         No flaming or racist comments and absolutely no bullying.

We will be respectful and kind to all who subscribe.

Now my own personal hopes and desires for the group and its creation…

First, I wanted one central location to send the magazine to. I wanted to be able to gage how many readers I had and I wanted a place to send out things during the month which were time sensitive that would normally go into the magazine, and it was my hope that those who were contributors of the magazine as well as our readers would talk amongst themselves about the things going on in their writing or business lives, and if those reading didn’t have either that they would share with us little glimpses into their worlds, because knowing ones readers helps one know the things which should go into their magazine. I hoped that Everyone would talk about what they’re reading in the magazine, what they like, what they did not, and how the magazine could be improved.

I desired a community where both the disabled and non-disabled could come together, find their common ground unite and grow.

A few of you have caught on and have participated. To you I am ever grateful. Others never have a thing to say.

Folks, this is a group. A group is defined as a number of things that are related or close together or a class together.

Put simply, all of us have things in common, yet we’re different as well.

We are one, yet we are we.

I want to know my friends, clients, readers and contributors. I once again, invite you to join in.

I’m copying below what I sent out about the topics of the group and  how they work. I’ve done this a couple of times. I hope this time you’ll take note and join the community.

If you would like a copy of the following sent directly to you please let me know.

*NOTE*

There is no charge to contribute, either here or into the magazine.

All subscribed to this group are also eligible to participate in promotional opportunities unless otherwise specified.

The only things requiring payment are Adverts or Sponsor Ad Spaces.

If you need a copy of our general guidelines for all submissions, please write me straight away or visit:  https://pattysworlds.com/guidelines-for-all-tell-it-to-the-world-marketing-client-or-guest-writer-submissions/

*BEGIN TOPIC INFORMATION*

OK.

Let’s say you’ve an event happening before the next edition of The Writer’s Grapevine comes out. Using the submission guidelines, you may post that event to the group. You may do so weekly up until the date of the event.

Posting an event would fall under the topic of #NewsNuggets.

What else can we post here?

Maybe you’ve a new book coming out soon and you’d like to talk about that a bit. That’s awesome. We’d like to know about that. I know, for example, that author and artist Lynda McKinney Lambert has a book in the works and author proofreader Jo Elizabeth Pinto just put one out. So, let’s chat about that.

That would fall under the topic of #What’sUp? So, you’d write about that as if you were writing for the What’s Up column in the magazine.

OK. Starting to get the idea?

Maybe you’ve a Rockin’ Recipe you want to share or you learned something new about some great software you got for Christmas. Write about it and put it under the #Tip topic.

Did you write a poem that appeared in a magazine or on a blog somewhere, but it’s not been in the Grapevine? Post it here. That goes under… Yeah, that’s right, #PoetryPlace.

Do you have something you’d like to share but didn’t have time to make the magazine deadline? Whatever you don’t get to put into the Writer’s Grapevine can be posted here. You’ll just select the correct topic to go with the title of your piece, and away you’ll go. Copy your piece into the body of the email, and attach it as well. When something is attached, it can be retrieved from the group website.

Reply with them and I’ll answer so others can see. They might have the same thing rolling round in their mind.

Remember, staying on topic is important. If you’ve got something to say about what is being posted and it’s not truly part of the thread, it’s probably best to send that privately to the sender, or simply start a new topic.

To subscribe send a blank email to: writersGV+subscribe@groups.io

OK. That’s all from me. I’m off in search of some food and another cup of morning brew.

Happy Posting.

May Harmony find You, and Blessid Be.
