Hello from a beautiful, summery Wellington, where the weather is warming up nicely and it’s beginning to feel like we’re heading to Christmas weather.
I’ll be releasing episode 61 of The Blind Side Podcast on Friday New Zealand time, Thursday evening in much of the world. This week’s episode is all about iPhone X. I’ll be answering the questions many of us have about what this phone, without a home button and touch ID, is like to use from a blindness perspective.
I’ll be unboxing it, setting it up, configuring Face ID, exploring the new gestures and functions necessary because of the lack of a Home button, getting used to unlocking the phone the new way, making a purchase, and I’ll even make a recording using an app that records in a lossless audio format so you can hear its microphone.
This is one of the biggest changes we’ve seen in iPhone since the original release, and The Blind Side Podcast will be right on top of it, even before the phone is available in the US.
To get the podcast, search for The Blind Side Podcast in all good podcast apps. You can also hear the episodes online here.
Once I have had the iPhone X in my hands for a few days, I will be releasing the second edition of iOS 11 Without the Eye. This will also be coming to National Braille Press in hardcopy Braille and other formats.
Thanks for all your support.
