I don’t think he understood at the time, but I’m sure he forgave me. I know what’s done is done and cannot be undone, but I’ll always regret not taking advantage of that early morning opportunity for quality time with my husband.
I know itâs not the same, but I do understand what youâre saying.
Right before Campbell passed, I was having one of those kinds of days where if something could go wrong, it did go wrong. He wanted me and needed out and I became frustrated. I accidentally bumped into him while using a gruff tone of voice and because of his balance issue he nearly fell over. I caught him and he leaned into me as if he were telling me he were sorry and it breaks my heart to this day that I lost patience with him.
After he went out and we got back inside I spent time with him but of all the things that we went through at the end that bothers me to no end.
I know we mustnât beat ourselves up but I just wanted you to know I understood.

Patty, in my opinion, it’s the same thing, no matter if the object of your frustration is a human or a dog. I’ve also gotten frustrated with Bill’s demands while I was trying to work and expresssed that emotion a time or two. I regret those, too. This happens to everyone.

January 26, 2021I don’t think anyone can possibly understand caregiving unless they’ve done it.
And though stressful no matter how you do it if you’re living 24-7 with the situation it is the hardest thing ever.
Take care.
