if I could share one wish with you
I’d share this lovely day
I’d wrap my arms around you
kiss your lips
lay my face against your chest
listen to your heart as it beats out the message it wants to say
would it say you love me
would it send me far away
would it say
you’re broken
you’re broken I’ve no room within
no room within for such as you
or
would it welcome me with open arms
as I so wish it to do
a moment stolen
a moment saved
a short visit
hold my hand
chase the night time monsters away
but I know this is but a dream
but a dream in deepest sleep
wakeful early hours
wakeful early hours counting sheep until the break of day
people place such expectations on relationships
when all that’s needed is love
someone for everyone
no
not true
no one for a broken one
but if I had one wish to share with you
I’d share this lovely day
I’d wrap my arms around you
kiss your lips
and saver the goodness for when you’ve gone away
