My favorite line is something my late husband Bill said many times during the six years I cared for him after he suffered two strokes that paralyzed his left side. I included it as the last line of the poem below, which appears in my collection, How to build a Better Mousetrap: Recollections and Reflections of a Family Caregiver. The line illustrates the fact that Bill needed help performing even the most mundane of personal care tasks.
