Happy Holly Jolly Holidays to you All!
To me, when one is recovering from a nasty sinus infection while dealing with a broken tooth, there’s nothing more comforting than a fluffy kitty, warm blanket and soothing bowl of hot chicken noodle soup.
With that thought in mind, I invite you to enjoy the story of what happened when I went in search of said comfort.
Earlier this evening, I was fixing myself some chicken noodle soup. While it heated in the microwave, I sat on the foot of my bed petting a purring Eddy. Suddenly, the heat pump kicked on and the delectable aroma came wafting in and the royal kitty leapt from the bed, flew, landed with a thump into the hall, sped into the kitchen and jumping onto the table where he eats his breakfast and supper let out a mighty yowl!
He yowled while the microwaved continued heating. He yowled as I poured the steaming soup into my bowl, and then as he became all consumed with the need for that most excellent scent floating through the air, in total desperation he leapt to the counter and demanded his share.
I happily poured a bit of broth into the bottom of his dish and mixing in his canned food for the evening set it back into his place where he had somehow floated back to without my noticing and as the bowl settled down before him, he began to eat and after just two or three laps of the warm food, he revved his motor and purring contentedly finished off his supper thus allowing me to settle back into a blanket with mine.
Now, with his belly nicely rounded with its meal the princely feline is snoozing on the foot of my bed.
Lesson? Buy bigger cans of soup.
Until next time, this is Patty and Prince Edward, better known as Little Eddy saying…
