Here’s to Success

hold the glass high
amber liquid swishes round
toast success
but there’s no one around
the dog’s gone to bed
the hallways are dead
the music is down low
I’m wondering which way to go
no one to share this day with
my own fault it’s true
so
I’m sharing this poem with you
here’s to success
one day maybe it’ll really be true
