Have a Care a Poem by Patty L. Fletcher

Have a Care a Poem by Patty L. Fletcher

Have a care!

Be ye aware!

It used to be the best part of the beginning of the day.

Now,

Now, just want to stay away.

Comments, sometimes out of place.

Takes the smile from the face.

The smile is replaced,

replaced,

Replaced with a frown.

Turns the day upside down.

Why?

Why? Must people be,
thoughtless, and rude?

Intended or not,
it leaves a hurting spot.

Think,
We must think, before we speak.

Think,
think before our statement stinks.

Think,
think about why the people are there.

Have a care.

  1. In a world where everyone has an opinion we do need to be mindful and “Have a Care”. I love the style of your poem, Patty, and the message. I hope we will be seeing a poetry book from you some day.

    1. Hi Marlene. I am actually considering a poetry book. Why not?
      Thanks for reading.

    I love this poem Patty

  3. Hi Trish. Thanks. When I started writing poetry I hadn’t a clue what I was doing. I still haven’t a clue but I know what feels right. I don’t understand the grammar aspect of poem or the difference between all the kinds. So, I just write the stuff and when I need to publish somewhere serious like The Avocet or something, I get an editor to fix it up. LOL. Here on the blog, it’s as it is. So, thanks for reading and for letting me know you enjoyed it.

Hi Patty, I am also sensitive and sometimes comments upset me.

    1. It’s hard not to be sensitive sometimes.
I’m getting ready to publish a post which is going to speak to who I am right now.
