Thor’s Day – Thursday August 29, 2024

Moon Phase Waning Crescent

Good morning, everyone.

I hope you’re all starting, or ending your day, wherever you are in the world on a peaceful note. Keeping in mind, of course, that sometimes peaceful doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the conflict. Sometimes peaceful simply means a clean bed at night, a cup of coffee in the morning, and a decent place to take care of one’s toileting needs.

This morning, I’m starting my day with a splendid cup of cappuccino with a splash of Italian Sweet Cream coffee creamer and for the moment things are OK in my world.

I try to take advantage of these moments when I have them. Already Blue is stirring restlessly on his bed and has been up once to let me know he’s awake and is getting ready to need to go outside. It’s frustrating and wonderful at the same time. While it’s a priority that he always ask to go out, it’s also frustrating in that I just got settled with cup, computer, cover and pillow placed in all the correct spots, for the ultimate working/reclining experience, and I hate to lose this feeling so soon after having just arrived.

I started this currently unraveling tale to share something I read when I opened my inbox today. I like to try and find these emails first because they assist me with dealing with and getting through the rest of my sometimes-chaotic day.

Speaking of transformations, many of you are aware that I’ve begun writing in the Paranormal and sci fi fantasy genres political fiction and a splash of erotica as well.

In 2023, I released The Blended Lives Chronicles: Sides of the Order and things began to change in my world.

To allow me to explain better, let’s start with a free book giveaway!

The cover is a deep, candy apple red, with the title, The Blended Lives Chronicles: Sides of the Order at the top in white text. At the bottom is the author’s name, Patty L. Fletcher, also typed in white. Above the author’s name and below the title of the book is a white skeleton key, taking up about 3/4 of the cover space. The spine of the cover features a white crescent moon on the top left corner of a white number one roman numeral. Below that is the title of the book, followed by the author’s name at the bottom of the spine.

About the Book

Lady Laya MoonWalker is a well respected author and magazine owner and a high priestess in the magickal community. After a drawn-out battle with the forces of dark magik, she has come into her own. She lives and works on Planet Korponious, where she is the owner and creator of an Interplanetary Magazine called “Blended Lives Chronicles.” Her mission is to blend the lines of race, creed, and disability that separate so many and to elevate the recognition of the training and ability of Service Animals of all kinds to a new level. She has just been accepted into the Blended Lives Federation and now hopes to continue her work in a way like nothing known to her before.

Laya has created allot of wreckage along the way through her dark journey into the light, and now she wishes to set this to right. She has just received her best break ever. Frank Prince, the CEO of The Blended Lives Learning Center, has invited her to the Celtic New Year Convention and Witches Ball as a reporter to write a story on the progress of The Blended Lives Planetary Federation. She will be their guest speaker at the opening ceremonies.

When Laya arrives at the Celtic Convention, she finds herself face to face with an old and dear friend, Blended Lives Learning Center Instructor and member of the Order of the Night, Derrick Gibbous. As they begin to connect, causing old sparks to reignite, they are tossed into a nasty battle from which not everyone will escape. People are not as they seem, and not everyone supports the side for which they appear to work.

As their love for one another grows, so does the battle. Despite everything, Laya and Derrick are determined to see their work to unite beings of all kinds succeed.

A couple of years ago, my family visited an elephant sanctuary near the Cradle of Humankind. For those of you who don’t know the Cradle of Humankind, it is an area in South Africa where many fossils, tools, and other traces of early humans have been found.

We also visited the Sterkfontein Caves where the 2.3 million year old fossil of Mrs Ples is on display, but this post is about the elephants.

Lester climbed the old, creaking staircase to the attic. In the bright and airy room, dust motes danced in the sunlight pouring in through a broken window. Reaching into a corner, his fingers found a cold, metallic object..

What? We can’t stop there!

You all really must read this book. It’s already changing my life.

Speaking of books, author Kevin Hubschman has just released a new book. Let’s see what the buzz is about.

Grow’n Up (The Ken Halsey Story): A Reality Fiction Novel

by Kevin Hubschman

C 1989 / Published July 2024

For sale on Amazon in paperback ($15), hardcover ($20), and e-book ($4.99)

Author’s website:

https://www.dldbooks.com/kevinhubschman/

Synopsis:

Grow’n Up (The Ken Halsey Story) is the first volume of a two–part series about the life of Ken Halsey. It’s a rollercoaster ride of Ken’s many mishaps and few triumphs. Part I chronicles the first 16–odd years of his tumultuous and sometimes melancholy life, from 1961 to 1976.

Follow Ken from his humble beginnings in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, to his rocky school years, to the beginnings of his adult working life. Be sure to read about the next 45+ years of Ken’s life in Grow’n Up (The Return of Ken Halsey). The follow-up novel will likely be available in late 2024.

From a review of the book by Trish Hubschman:

Grow’n Up is about a boy from Brooklyn growing up on Long Island in the 1970s and early ‘80s. Ken is a very smart kid. His teachers love him. Unfortunately, he’s an outcast among his peers. This book reveals the torment, abuse, and assault he suffers. It describes the sex, drugs, booze, and rock and roll of the period, which Ken is fully involved in—and how he survives it all.

My heart broke at times for Ken. I rooted for him. Frustration and tears filled me. I also chuckled at times. I was impressed by his strength and his will to keep going forward. This book makes me think of the classics Catcher in the Rye and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn rolled together.

OK. The cup is empty, and Blue is ready to go out. So, that’s it for today. I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit to Patty’s Worlds. Please do come again soon.

Please make sure to explore the blog before you go, for there are some true treasures waiting to tantalize and delight around every bend.

Happy reading. May Harmony find You and Blessid Be.
