This is Chief Seeing Eye Dog Blue from Team Blue Investigations reporting in.
My human mother and I have been getting disoriented in the lobby which is on the first floor of our big building.
There are ten floors and mother, and I live on the seventh one. This means we get to ride the elevator cars which I love doing. I especially like showing mother the buttons which make the doors open and the cars go up and down.
Sometimes though because mother stops to talk to someone and has this really annoying habit of moving her whole body rather than just her head, then, when we start off again we’re not going in the right direction. Trainer Chris told her not to do it but I got to bark about it sir, she does not listen.
By the time mother and I realize it we’re way off track and sometimes have a hard time getting turned around.
Today, mother and I stopped to talk with some humans by the office, but while we were talking and I was getting a pet mother moved back to let someone get by and that little step toe messed us up.
This time, mother used her noodle though. We had accidentally ended up around the corner to the spot where we dump my leavings and mother stopped, put her hand on the rail at the wall and stood still until she could listen and understand where we were.
We went and checked our mail and happily enough when we turned around mother did the right thing and we got to the elevator buttons just fine.
I wagged my tail to let mother know she did a good job. Sometimes mother feels bad when we mess up and she says ugly things about herself. I don’t like this so I always try to show her that if we have each other and we can get where we need to go OK in the end that it’s OK all the time. She does not listen.
Anyhow, we are going to have another O&M lesson with our new human trainer Andrew.
He is not quite the same as our human Trainer Chris, but he does a good job explaining things to mother. So far, we’ve discovered that drivers suck because they won’t just obey the law and mind their business and mother needs to go to the doctor and see what’s wrong with her ear.
I’m happy to report though that mother did get a chocolate cream doughnut this time and I’m glad. She was happy while eating it and I behaved myself a lot.
Well, that’s all from Team Blue Investigations.
PS. Rain and snow coming tomorrow.
May or may not get that O&M lesson on Wednesday after all. I hope so. I really like taking my mother places. When we do it right it makes her happy.

About Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue Fletcher…

Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue was born in Chester New Jersey, October 4, 2018.
After only 8 short weeks, he was taken from his dog mother and given to a puppy raiser family, where he would live and train for the next year.
When the year was over and he’d passed all his tests with flying colors, he went to live at The Seeing Eye® Guide Dog School and there he began to learn the rest of what he must know to become a Seeing Eye® Guide.
After a few months of arduous training, he was matched with his human mother as her second guide.
Now, he lives in the mountainous land of Kingsport Tennessee where whether working in harness guiding his mother safely from place to place or playing with his beloved doughnut ring he is always on the case.
