Originally, the following was called, “Honoring the Goddesses on Their Day” But I feared if I put that into the subject line, no one would read. I hope you do.

When I was growing up, going to the School for the Blind in Nashville, Tennessee, we had teachers from all walks of life. Each one brought their own unique energies and teachings. I remember learning about Jewish holidays, Christian holidays and from someone, I don’t quite remember who I learned the value of meditation.

Teaching such as what I lovingly received isn’t allowed today, and to our student’s loss.

I also remember we planted trees. I remember it was still quite brisk out, but our teachers bundled us up and out into the blowy sunny cold we went.

We planted trees, and talked about why it was important. I don’t quite remember if it was during this time of year or later in spring, I only know when I read this it brought that memory.

Today, it’s five degrees out and the ground is so hard, you couldn’t plant anything if your life depended upon it.

But if we didn’t have this time for the earth to sleep nothing would grow right. At least not in this part of the world.
