FEATURED BUSINESS OF THE WEEK:AT TRAINING BY ADAM #Technology

Good morning campbellsworld visitors.

I’d like to introduce you to the latest member of Tell-It-To-The-World Marketing (Author, Blogger, Business Assist) Adam Morris.

Earlier in the week, he sat down with me for an interview. Here for your enjoyment and information is the result of that visit.

First, tell us a little about yourself?

I was born in 1967 3 months premature and as a result am totally blind. I’m the eldest of 3, my sisters are both sighted.

I live on the mid north coast of New South Wales with my wife.

I was born in Canberra and after living there for around 30 years moved to Sydney and then here in 2012.

What type of business or Nonprofit do you own or work for?

I own AT Training by Adam, a business that trains people who are blind or low vision in adaptive technology products that use voice output.

I also work at a Pizza shop as a Kitchen hand preparing vegies and performing other duties.

What brought you into this type of work?

I am self-taught and enjoy helping people advance in their ability to use technology to make their lives easier.

What is your favorite part of the work that you do?

The favorite part of the work I do is seeing people improve in their use of technology where it makes the tasks, they do easier and knowing I’ve been able to help them achieve.

What is the least favorite part of the work that you do?

People calling consistently and not realizing I have a life outside AT Training.

What are your personal strengths and how do they assist you in the work you do?

I am a good listener and can explain things to people and work at their level of competency.

I can explain things to people and don’t get frustrated with different learning abilities.

I’ve been complemented on my good phone manner.

What are your personal weaknesses and how do they hinder you in your work?

Using a split screen on an iPad,

Using ribbons in Microsoft products,

People don’t always get my dry sense of humor.

How are you working to improve them so you can lessen their hindrance to your work?

I am looking at getting some training in using ribbons.

I am also going to look at using and learning to use an iPad more.

What is your dream for the future?

My dream for the future is to build AT Training by Adam into a full-time job. I would also like to work as a consultant/personal assistant for my wife once she obtains her degree in Health and Leisure at the end of this year.

How does that relate to your work?

It would mean I would have more time to train people. It would mean I would be living my dream.

What is your preferred way of communicating?

I prefer to communicate by phone or zoom after the initial contact since you can tell more from a person by voice than by writing.

How can someone get in touch with you if they should wish to buy from or work with you in some way?

People can contact me by phone: +61 2 6654 7777 or if in the US on 1 405 225 6896
