Featured Author of the Week Trish Hubschman #Feature #Author #Interview #WordPressWednesday

Good morning campbellsworld visitors.

This week, I’m Pleased and Privileged to have with me, author Trish Hubschman. She’s got lots of great stuff to share, so without delay, I call on Trish to take it away!

First, in your own words tell us a little about you.

My name is Trish Hubschman. I’m the creator of the Tracy Gayle mystery series. There are 3 published books so far in it: Tidalweave, Stiff competition, and Ratings Game.

I also write short stories of all genres and poetry

Where do you live?

I was born and grew up on Long Island, New York. Last December, my husband, Kevin, and I moved to Northeast Pennsylvania

Who are the special people in your life?

I would say I have 3 special people in my life, my husband, my dog, Henry and my mom. Kevin and mom, not Henry, proofread my stories. They support my dream and, this is true for Henry too, love me every step of the way

Do you have any pets?

A dog, Henry. He’s two. We adopted him in June 2019. I don’t know what kind of dog he is, but he’s so sweet. He’s 36 lbs. He has short legs and the face of a German shepherd.

What keeps you going? I mean, like what inspires you and keeps you moving forward in your work?

One story idea usually leads to another. Sometimes I have 3 or 4 ideas at once, which can be confusing. I get ideas when I’m listening to music or reading a book. That’s not always the greatest recipe for good concentration. I’m always open to story prompts that I can play with. Odd as this maty sound, these pandemic months since March have been busy for me, not so much in writing, but re-editing and tightening older stories.

What is your favorite song?

I’m a fan of classic rock music. Styx is my favorite band. I love Tommy Shaw, the lead singer. My favorite song of his is, Too Much Time on my Hands. It’s got a great bounce to it.

What is your favorite movie? Feel free to list multiple titles.

The movie I keep watching on DVD is “Ghost” with Patrick Swayze. He was an excellent actor and fantastic dancer. The movie is multi-genre. It’s a love story/ mystery/fantasy. The ending is super sad, but appropriate. I still cry

What is your favorite book? Feel free to list multiple titles.

I don’t specifically have a favorite book. I do have a favorite author, Lisa Gardner. She writes mystery/detective fiction. She has a great
Boston cop series with Det Sgt DeeDee Warren. . The series used to have some romance in it, but her lady cop got married and had a kid. I love seeing tough lady cops and detectives and gorgeous men FBI agents

What is your favorite food?

I love chicken, any and all kinds. I go to a restaurant I order chicken.

Chili’s has the best grilled chicken. I go to weddings and I get the chicken for the main course. The best fried chicken is KFC. I’m known as the chicken lady in my family

What is your favorite quote?

If at first you don’t succeed, keep trying

What is your favorite affirmation?

Never give up

Nothing is impossible except getting a Cadillac up your nose (My itinerant teacher in junior high always said that.)

What is your biggest pet peeve?

It annoys me when people park their vehicles in designated handicapped parking spots at Walmart who don’t have permits to do so.

What do you think your best strengths are, and how do they help you in your work as a writer?

I feel I write very good dialogue. It flows, is snappy, humorous at times. I write very good emotional scenes too.

What are your weaknesses, and how are you making them stronger?

I’m not as good with visual descriptiveness, but I feel readers don’t need down to minute detail about how something looks.

I’m limited on doing verval interviews because of my poor hearing.

What is your dream for the future, and how does it relate to your work as a writer?

People have told me my Tracy mysteries should be made into a movie. That makes me smile. I guess secretly I hope this will come true

What is your preferred way of communicating, and how can someone reach you if they wish to buy from or work with you in some way?

Email. I think it was invented for me or people like me with hearing loss. It’s opened up a wonderful world of communication.

Before you go, is there anything you’d like to add that I’ve not covered here?

She’s joining the band on tour as security chief. The arsonist is discovered, but much deeper, more dangerous things come to light as well: an assault, an attempted murder, and then two murders. Food For Thought

We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.
